That's why I hate this signing, when Poni isn't finding the back of the net he's an extremely useless player (just like Nagy was). TM will not be impressed.

That's odd, considering that Leafs fans who have watched him for the past 4+ seasons say otherwise and consider him to be a hard working player who is responsible at both ends of the ice.

Where are you getting this?

The Leafs' fans who responded with intelligent post point out he's a decent all around player. Sure, he's inconsistent but he's not a player's whose only worth is putting the puck in the net.

You're so biased already anyway that I honestly won't be able to convince you. I hate how people judge actions in the moment. I guess we live in the age of instant gratification so what else should I expect, right...

I bet a lot of people didn't realize this, The Chicago Blackhawks had one person hit 30 goals last season. Only one player scored over 80 points.....It takes a team effort to win the Stanley cup not one player.

Yeah, ok, this is coming from the self proclaimed smartest hockey mind on the Kings board!

It depends if we get the Leafs Poni or the Pittsburgh Poni.

That's a rather small sample size if you compare the amount of games Poni appeared in with Toronto vs. Pittsburgh. It takes a while for players to adjust to new teammates. It isn't an easy flick of a switch and new linemates form chemistry.

When did I proclaim I was an expert? I just speak from what I see with my own eyes, and the reality of the situation is Alexei Ponikarovsky will have each and every one of you longing for the days of Alexander Frolov. This is a major step backwards and Justin Williams aint leading this team to the promised land.

Even with Kovi the Kings are probably still a year or two away from Cup form. Ask the Sharks how much scoring helped them with three players over 80 points and two of them potting over 30 goals.

They got swept out of the Conference Finals and almost lost in round one. It's a team effort, something Froloaf lacked the past two years. I really thought being a contract year Froloaf would have really stepped up, the fact that he posted career low numbers is quite telling.

  • For a big guy, he doesn't destroy people with big hits, but can use his body effectively and finish his checks.
  • He doesn't really stand out with fancy stickhandling, plays a pretty linear game,
  • His bread and butter goals come from the slot. He should go there more often
  • Tends to wilt in the playoffs

Pretty much, and that is really all we need from the third line...

I love that your avatar is back by the way Zooey for GM indeed!

Fills the need for depth on LW, 30 years old, 1 year contract, doesn't mess with Cap Space's mind all season, big, most of his goals come from the circles in, fits Terry Murra's style, still has upside and he will finally be playing where there is no pressure despite being in another contract year. Is Poni Boy my first choice? Absolutely not. Does this mean Lombardi's offseaons is a rousing success (shout out to Kings17)-no. The Kings filled a need and still have money to spend for more depth, stay golden Poni Boy.

Next stupid thing Holmgren does I'm making it my user name (I think). It's probably a matter of when and not if.

At least DL got someone thank god. Apparently defensively responsible, decent on the boards, can score

Not horrible, not earth shattering

Has anyone posted anything about projected lines as of now?
If not, then I was thinking something like this. I hear Ponikarovsky can play on both sides.

Smyth-Kopitar-Williams
Ponikarovsky-Stoll-Brown
Richardson-Zeus-Simmonds

Another trade will probably come by, so it would probably mean that Richardson get moved down to the 4th line again?

DL already said he would expect Poni to be on the 3rd line with Zus and Simmonds.
