I think she's talking about Frolov.

She's ripping into Frolov, not the Poni-express.

Ponikarovsky's last goal as a Penguin was rather nice:

Exactly what I was thinking. As long as he plays here like he did during (from the sound of things) his Maple Leaf days, he'll be OK (hopefully, "OK" applies to his cap hit, as well)...

Yeah, you know Frolov, and his poor defensive coverage.

Ahh, okay. Not as bad but still totally classless. She just needs to keep her big mouth shut and report the news. Does she think she's going to win over people by bashing a player that was a life long King until today? There are still plenty of Kings fans who love Fro and who don't blame him for signing with someone else.

Ponikarovsky is twice the player Nagy is. Greater production, better defensively...I don't know where anyone is getting a Nagy 2.0 vibe from. That's just silly.

Wait till TM and Dean gets a handle on him. He will be a Frolov 2.0 sequel.

I'm thinking Dean has his sights set on a defenseman now.

If there is ever a geriatric version of the movie "Clueless" a star could be born.

This will be close. Remember, it is late July and he was still available.. Not a lot of suitors.

Ponikarovsky's Scouting Report:

Assets

* Is usually among the most industrious skaters on the ice. Displays a sound two-way game and some offensive ability. Has good size and strength. Is strong in the corners and in front of the opposing goal.

Flaws

* Will never be confused with a natural goal-scorer. Doesn't always take full advantage of his imposing frame. Misses a lot of quality scoring chances. Lacks intensity from time to time.

Career Potential

* Two-way big-bodied winger.

This Poni signing is more of a PR move after hearing all the fans rants.

I won't be surprised if it's a multi year deal. It may have been the only way to get him to sign.

I've always thought they would compliment each other well. I'm betting 30 goals from Poni if he play's with Kopitar. Book it!
