I'm a little surprised that no one has brought up the '02 Islanders/Leafs match from round one, which had a little bit of everything. A very old-timey feeling series, lots of bad blood, cheap shots, dramatic moments (the Shawn Bates penalty shot was a spine-tingler). It was ugly hockey, but in it's own right, it was a great series.

I think Osgood said it was the most vicious series he'd ever been in, which is saying something considering he was in Detroit when the Avs rivalry was at it's peak.
