Jake Muzzin - NHL ready?

I just wanted to know a bit more about Muzzin, i know some of you guys think he is ready to crack the Kings lineup next season, so what's his worth? Is he above Hickey, Drewiske, Voynov (is he gone to KHL btw?)? Is yes whith who could he be paired with?

Here's my guest :

Scuderi-Doughty
Johnson-Muzzin
Fransson-Greene

Drewiske is above all for the simple fact that he's played NHL games. He plays a different game than Voinov, Hickey, and Muzzin though so not a great comparison. I'd say Muzzin is in between Hickey and Voinov. Muzzin played well in the AHL if i remember correctly and got some coaches praise (him or Clifford I think it was). He has a shot at the team but between him, Hickey, Fransson, and Voinov, it's going to be tough competition. And Drewiske should already have a spot since he was on the team last year.

And I like the lines you have. Drewiske would be 7th and Harrold would probably be on the team as the 8th/13th forward

I think Muzzin could fit well this year, assuming that Hickey and Voynov are offensive defensemen, Muzzin is the only one with Drewiske to be a stay-at-home d-man, and i read that he had a great shot and that he was excellent at both side of the ice. So can we that Muzzin is the most complete player between Hickey, Voynov and Drewiske? (it's just a supposition)

After watching the Monarchs in the playoffs, I think Muzzin is clearly the most NHL ready.

In terms of NHL readiness, I think it goes like this:

1-Muzzin
2-Hickey
3-Voynov

That said, I don't think any of them are completely NHL ready. They could all use some more time in the AHL IMO.

Fransson is the wild card. It all depends on how he looks in camp.

Martinez won't be an NHL player IMO. He's no better than Drewiske. I think he'll be a career minor leaguer.

There have recently been very good things said about Deslauriers ---- how does he fit into all this, if at all?

Don't forget that A-Mart is very highly thought of by Kings mgmt and made the team last season prior to his injury and then sort of lost steam. I still see him as being an acceptable #7 this coming season and maybe even having the ability to play some #6 minutes. Muzzin along with Voinov look like this would be a great year to give them spot duty call up time with the Kings.

Ease them along for the first half of the season and let them show what they can do.

Hickey clearly has the greatest skill set of the bunch but of course, his injury bug is a concern. If Hickey comes to camp in good condition (which he will, the guy is a total gym rat) and is injury free he could easily be called NHL ready and return to the top of our D prospect list imo.

I want Voinov to make the team and I think he can do it. 2 full seasons of professional hockey under his belt . . . he's clearly the most ready.

Yes, he said in his first year with the team that if he doesn't make the NHL in 3 years, he will probably go back to Russia. . .

Was not impressed with Muzzin during the last camp. Voinov will not play in Manchester this year. It's either the Kings or KHL. My guess? He plays on Long Island or Edmonton.

....or he plays for Toronto in exchange for you-know-who!

They used to think highly of him. Not so much anymore I would think.

I'm not sure if Muzzin is ready yet. Where will Kozun play next season? AHL?

Based on his showing at the Development Camp...

I would say Muzzin needs some additional time in the AHL. I thought Andrew Campbell looked pretty good though.

They are still pretty high on Amart according to some of the brass. I really couldn't say what DL thinks of him as of now but above him there are people who value A-mart and think he can be a solid contributer this year as a Harrold replacement D and maybe more (5-6 guy) down the road.

If Voinov makes the team and a King and Hickey is as good as his recent scope says he is and can stud up then A-mart is easily the odd man out but only time will tell if that is the case.

Nevermind.

He is still thought of as a solid prospect.
