The Henry - Carkner connection...?

I found it interesting that the Habs signed Henry to a new 2-year deal...

Just throwing but do you see him as the Habs version of Matt Carkner?

- both are (or were) career AHL guys who worked hard and stuck it out (Carkner made it of course)

- both are pretty stable guys at the blueline, Henry finishing with a respectable +18 last season

- both are tough customers (saw Henry beat some guys down big time last season)

- both are obviously tenacious, meat-and-potatoes, nothing fancy but know their roles

Think he could become our version of Carkner? I think so. I can see Henry gaining a spot if given a chance. Cripes if Bergeron stuck around as long as he did, Henry could be effective. I think he could fill in a nice role, and play some nice steady D for the Habs. Anyway, just some timid observations for a slow summer season...

From my understanding having a defenseman taking fighting majors is never a good thing. And don't expect Jacques Martin to have a different understanding...

Henry already had exposure to the NHL. Before this year 177 NHL games to be exact.

Before this season, carkner played 1 NHL game.

What does it mean? It means one guy already made it but couldn't stick, one guy worked hard and improved till he made it. There's a difference.

The difference is that Bergeron could put the puck in the net with the power of his mind.

Don't let MAB make eye contact with your girlfriend, she'll be pregnant with his baby immediately. I know this for a fact.

Technically, Henry made it, then went back to being an AHLer again.
