I was mentioning in the 3rd jersey thread that I really couldn't pick 1 player as my favorite player on the Jackets, which is weird since I love this team more than any other sports team. With August coming up (aka the slowest month for any hockey fan) I thought we could post our 5 favorite CBJ players and our 5 least favorite to see where everyone is at. I'm curious to see how other players are viewed.
Here's my top 5 (no particular order since I don't have a #1 favorite yet)
1. Sammy Pahlsson - Always have liked him since his Mighty Duck days, always traded for him in the NHL video games.
2. Anton Stralman - Liked him since the day we traded for him.
3. Jake Voracek - Obvious reasons here, everyone loves Jake.
4. Nikita Filatov - Wanted us to draft him, we did, he will be a great one we all hope.
5. Derek Dorsett - I can't ever question his effort.
Honorable mentions: Hejda, RJ and Russell
Top 5 least favorite (don't have to necessarily dislike anyone, just who would be in the bottom 5 if you ranked your favorites from top to bottom)
1. Fedor Tyutin - Not just because he was traded for Zherdev, but because he was terrible last year. 1 bad year, 1 good one, I hope next year he's better.
2. Commodore - Same as above, meaning he was terrible last year. Very likeable person though.
3. Klesla - Never healthy, not sure what kind of a person he is off the ice, don't know what there is to like. (I know EDM will agree)
4. Boll - Don't really know what I don't like about him, something though.
5. Blunden - Not a good player by any means, and cheapshotted a Lake Erie Monster player when he was with the Crunch, real dirty play.
Players I like:
1. Voracek
2. Klesla
3. Hejda
4. Russell
5. Vermette
Players I dislike:
1. Tyutin
2. Commodore
3. Dorsett - I know most of you are in love with him, but I know multiple people who have worked with him at summer hockey camps and that sort of thing, and they all say he's an ass.
4. Boll
5. Huselius
Favorites
1. Hejda. Epitomizes every trait I love in a pro athlete. Reminds me of my boyhood hero Lou Gehrig - consistent excellence with a lunchbox attitude.
2. Jake. Love to watch him play, because he obviously loves to play.
3. Nash. Because he didn't go all "King James" on us. And he seems like a really nice guy.
4. Mase. I like watching him grow up & mature. I think he got a little full of himself in his rookie year. Last year brought him down, and it looks like he is responding well.
5. Boller. He has shortcomings, but his first year here he saw a need, and willingly stepped up to fill the role. A stand up guy.
Not so much
1. Rusty. Is it possible to have your personality removed? (Wait, there was "Thanksjimday." Hmmm, may have to rethink this.)
2. Murray. Don't know why, just..... meh.
3. Commodore. "Fat, drunk & stupid is no way to go through life, son."
Like:
Brass(you guys give up on him too quick. I think he will still be our top line center)
Voracek
Filatov
Moore
Nash
Dislike:
Pahlsson (don't get the man crush some of you guys have on him or his corsi rating. He is the most one dimensional player on the roster.)
Clark
Blunden
Dislike well I do not dislike anybody really but if I had to pick the ones I liked the least it would be (1st being least liked on the club):
Blunden
Methot
Umberger
Commodore
Pahlsson
I'm like a couple people who already gave their opinions, I don't really hate anyone on the team. There's a select few who can be a little frustrating at times though.
Faves:
Kris Russell
Derek Dorsett
John Moore
Jake Voracek
David Savard
Least Fave:
Mike Commodore
Kristian Huselius
The only CBJ player recently I've actually hated was Christian Backman.
Favorites:
-Russell. Hooked me up with a puck in San Jose while I hung out by the CBJ tunnel (handed it to me, not tossed over the glass, after the warmup), which was the coolest thing I've had happen at a sporting event. In response, I bought a shirzee.
-Dorsett. He's all heart & is one of the few who answers my online pleas to "Play All 60". Comes to play every night.
-Huselius
-Umberger
-Our Maseiah

Like (in order) Jake! What's not to like? CBJ ought to market the kid's personality and contagious energy more! Tyutin, don't know why I have a soft spot for him. Doesn't even look like he enjoys ANYTHING... But, he's my second fav on the team. I hope that now that he's not virtually te ONLY healthy D-man, he will improve with a more reasonable load of minutes. Nash. Loves C-bus. Beautiful skill. 'nuff said. Huse Takes so much crap on the boards, but he certainly contributes the points. (we need points folks!) Vermette Consistent, exceeded epectations... great addition.
Honorable mention: Brass Can't / won't throw in the towel on him yet. Methot (wait. I think he will be a pleasant suprise this season) Garon Underated by a mile in my opinion. He saved our bacon last year more than a few stretches where Mase was MIA.
Wouldn't break my heart to see them go: Umberger: I just don't get this "heart of the team" crap. He's a guy who could get us a good return in trade. Bye-bye. Weighty Servicable, but ultimately YAWN. Clark
Not a fan, but don't want to see him go: Mason Just not attached to him really. I know, I know, he may be a "franchise goalie". Just don't care for him much... but obviously he should stay!
