Fedor Tyutin

Where does he rank with you guys on the depth chart? How'd he do last season?

I didn't get to see much of him last season. I know he had a pretty good first year, and I was following his stats and noticed he had a pretty slow start to the year at least statistically.

I ask because there's a thread on the Rangers forum about where he'd rank on OUR depth chart, and I think too often people look at someone's stats and come to a conclusion right away.

Here's the link to the thread if anyone's curious. http://hfboards.com/showthread.php?t=809555&page=2

He's our best defender at playing in all 3 zones.

He's our number 1 but hopefully soon will be our number 2

#1, but the distance between him, Klesla, Hejda, is small enough that the answer could very game-to-game.

Most well rounded defender on Columbus. He's a 3/4 type guy who plays all three zones and can eat minutes. Plays in all situations and is on a pretty good contract.

All that being said I, personally, think he had a disappointing year. Tried to do too much and made numerous bad decisions (of course, what CBJ defender - or player for that matter - didn't?).

I like him and think he's going to have a bounce back year. He's one of the players that would offer value in a trade, however, he's also one of our better payers on D.

1-3 defenseman on the Blue Jackets, 4-6 on the top 10 teams in the NHL.

That says alot about our defense.

If the Rangers want him back you can have him for a 5th round pick.

Really can't think of too many teams, other then maybe Chicago where he's a 5/6. You're really leaving heavily on that #4, which really doesn't make much sense.

Oh and ignore all think Tyutin with TW. I thought my dislike of Crosby was irrational. At least I realize he's one of the top 3 or 4 players in the league even I can't stand him.

With Commie's *very* off year
Klesla getting injured *again*
Hejda getting hurt, and looking above average instead of our hidden gem.

Tyutin had to shoulder a lot more load. He was logging a lot of minutes, and playing in the hard times. Instead of playing where he *should* be and where he would have the opportunity to put up better stats, he was playing where the team *needed* him to be.

Fedor works best on the 2nd pairing, but considering we have 4 bottom pairing defensemen in Columbus somebody has to be pushed up to the 1st pairing

Fedor is our best d-man.

He was asked to do too much last year, and played too much TOI night in and night out (almost 25 mins).

Fedor could go to any team in the NHL and be a second pairing. He is without a doubt my favorite CBJ Player.

I hate him for not being Nikolai Zherdev and I will never be able to rationally talk about him.

I'm pretty sure Tyutin shoots more than Zherdev did, despite being a defenseman. Zherdev would just carry the puck into the offensive zone, toe drag himself into a corner, and then lose the puck.

Dude, like, all of the players on the team are "not Nikolai Zherdev." Heck, almost the entire league, except for that one guy.

Pretty much agree with most of the posts here. Good second pairing D-man, and decent on the PP.

At this point he is probably our best well rounded D-man. Needs some help, though, so that he can play and be comfortable in his game.
