14 is reserved for when Doug Wilson signs Cheechoo later this off season.

the NHL would probably let it pass too, since it's Crosby.

In the past Jamal Mayers has worn #21 and #19. So what number will he don with the Sharks since those are taken?

My guess, #25.

And I like the idea of:

Couture - #9
McGinn - #24
Macintyre - #27

I kind of like Demers at 60.

He should go to 5 or 6 though.

The guys have to know they've made it before they ask for new numbers. Wait until the rosters are set for the trip to Sweden, then we'll know.
I believe Couture will take 9 and McGinn should go with 88.

I believe McGinn is fine at 64 personally, especially since he's donned it for the past 2 seasons.

yeah, thats what i was starting to think. i guess he likes the number. it doesnt look bad on him (especially if he's going to be a 3rd liner), i just think there are better options available. Ah well...

Too high of a number. I don't really know how the number choosing works, but he was never really a regular either so I don't know if he even had the chance to choose one yet.

I don't know how it's too high of a number with the likes of Kane #88, Savard #91, and Gretzky #99. Although I can agree that there is a range of numbers that seem to be "starter" numbers. (ie: ~41-~79

McGinn wore 88 in jr. I think that'd work for him.

Couture seemed to indicated last season that he liked #39.

(The last two guys who changed numbers at the start of the season were Setoguchi and Mitchell, IIRC. Since then, the Worcester shuttle has pretty much meant the guys weren't "for sure" in SJ for the season.)

If they let him get that and Couture 89, that would at least be cool to see.

I'd be fine with 9 or 89. 39 is stupid.

You're stupid. Anyone who is or was 39 years old is stupid. Except for my relatives.

Pretty much. We should expect an average of 3 goals against a game.

The Sharks store had Niemi and Niitty shirts in stock this weekend. Niemi is #31 and Niitty is #30.

Yeah but those are dumb. Anyone who uses a number that high aside from Gretzky just looks lame; this isn't the NFL.

flyers fan here.
let me start off by saying i'm not trying to spam and if this is in the wrong place i'm sorry. i'm not trying to sell anything i'm just asking for the opinions of a couple sharks fans.
when niittymaki was awesome in the olympics i went out and got his blue finland olympic jersey and it was awesome, i had multiple people stop me at flyers games every time i wore it to comment on it and ask where they could get one. i only got 3 or 4 uses out of it and once he left philly it has been hanging in my closet. i was just wondering, would any of you guys think someone would want that in san jose considering the olympics nitty played in were 8+ years ago? i figured i might put it on ebay cheap so some shark fan could enjoy it more than me just looking at it in my closet. thanks guys!
i dont feel like taking a pic of the actual jersey but this is the one i'm talking about, its pretty cool
