Silva would win pretty easily.

Even is GSP did get him to the ground I dont think he would be able to do much as Silva's defence from the ground is excellant. All you have to do is go watch Silva fight against Carlos Newton in Pride and thats prolly how the Silva vs GSP fight would unfold. GSP possibly gets a takedown but is able to do nothing on the ground. The fight gets stood up and then GSP gets knocked the **** out.

Silva is so much bigger and stronger then GSP

I definitely can see GSP getting this to the ground,I just dont see him finishing Anderson.I mean the guy submitted a great wrestler in Dan Henderson

I would lean toward this. Silva's guard and upkicks would cause GSP problems. I would sure love to see it, though.

I don't know what I'd rather see, that or a <205lbs flab-free Fedor in the UFC.

You make it sound like people cant be a fan of GSP and Silva at the same time. Sonnen beating Silva would be a lot like Serra beating GSP. Possible, but highly unlikely.

Really? I don't think that at all. I think Sonnen is poised for the upset and I really dont like Sonnen.

Bwahahaha. Not only did Griffin not pressure Silva at all, anyone that thinks they can push him while standing is a straight fool.

Sonnen's game plan is 100% different. His GNP is pretty serious and he's the only guy to beat Filho.

Silva in the past has shown a weakness in his ability to get up from the ground and that plays right into Sonnen's plan.

That being said, he has to get it to the ground first.

Maybe he is poised for the upset, just as Serra was. It doesn't change the fact that Silva is the current P4P king, and has looked virtually unbeatable at MW, while Sonnen is no 2006 Rich Franklin, or 2008 Dan Henderson. I think the Sonnen/Serra parallel would be valid if he won, even with his win over Marquardt.

So you think more of a Leites-like approach. You have to pressure him standing somehow. Granted, he won't try to stand and bang like Griffin did, but the fight will start standing and he'll have to enter Silva's range to get him down.

Just saying, we've seen Silva when somebody tries to pressure him. As a counter striker it's when he's at his best.

Sonnen didn't beat Filho. Filho's invisible friend beat Filho.

I voted GSP.

His pre-fight preparation is second to none. Then, he establishes a fight plan and he sticks to it. So far, it's been close to a perfect recipe for him.

Of course Silva would be tough, but I see GSP again developing a fight plan that would exploit Silva's weaknesses and take that to victory. It would probably mean GSP taking Silva down -- a lot. Silva gets frustrated and GSP dominates the ground.
