I wouldn't go that far (Get the Team to the finals and then he might be a genius) but it's a sweet deal. Don't they also need to resign Thornton soon?

Depends on what you mean by "soon". DW waited until the season was over to sign Patty. It is believed they are already looking to extend JT and he has a year left on his contract. There is virtually no chance JT doesn't sign a new contract with the Sharks.

Pretty ****ed up how Niclas mother****ing Wallin makes more than Seto. Good deal, but this pretty much just offsets Wallin's horrible contract.

At this point, just sign Willie Mitchell for $2.5m for 1 yr and we'd only need 1 more top 4 dman during the season. Not a bad spot, I guess.

Great signing for Seto. Hope he lights it up in the 1st half to get his big paycheck.

Crazy, I know.

Hopefully the team looks at Wallin's signing as DW keeping his word w/ a player (assuming our speculation that DW had to promise an extension when he traded for Wallin).

That could build some good will with the team. Still crazy, though

Talk about taking one for the team. I complained alot about Seto's poor season last year, but I've gotta give him props for signing that deal.

This and Demers make up for the Wallin signing IMO. But I get the feeling that his deal next year may be in the 4.5 range...

Yeah, he just got goodwill back on his side with the fans. Same with Pavs when he signed his previous deal. Hope it works out now for Seto to get his payday next deal.

Clowe, on the other hand, he definitely didn't do the team any favors last offseason.

The fact that a 23 year old 30 goal scorer is making 700K less than a spare part (Wallin) sort of proves that DW's loyalty, and his refusal to go back on his word is why he massively overpaid Wallin, not because he sucks in negotations.

As much as I like the deal, I hope his next contract isn't a huge overpayment. But who cares?!?! Seto at 1.8? Sounds good to me

**** YES!!!!!

I'm all fine with overpaying a little bit next offseason for this steal of a deal now. This gives the Sharks an actual chance to fix the D and compete this season. DW has got off to a great start redeeming himself with the Demers and Gooch deals.

1.8 now that's a steal. Gooch, Demers, Pavelski way to go DW 1 more to tie the Nucks. Gooch is gonna be our Teemu I hope well at least for this year with that deal.
