Paul Stewart comments

Sporting News Fox Sports article includes comments by local retired ref Paul Stewart on how refs in the playoffs.....

http://www.foxsports.com/content/view?contentId=2428358

"But retired NHL referee Paul Stewart says that's a myth. He says the way the game is called changes because the officials get narrowed down to the best as the playoffs go on."

When he was on NESN with TC and questioned about this type of thing, I swear I heard him say that ALL refs were equally capable, that they were monitored by the NHL. Of course, we all KNOW that is not true - there are some who are much more capable than others

Interesting to see him admit there are layers of capability

I think Orwell said it best in ANIMAL FARM..."All animals are equal, but some animals are MORE equal than others."

At this point, Stewie has lost any and all impartiality. He walks on too many eggshells trying not to bruise his former coworkers' egos. It's a pity, because he could bring so much to the table in terms of a different perspective.
