As terrible as Randy Jones was in that series, Sean O'Donnell was equally as bad with some of his mind numbingly dumb decisions. I admire and respect all he's done for the organization, but the game has passed him by.
Just watching this series just reinforces that we were lucky to be in the playoffs and Quick sucked.
Lucky to be in the playoffs? If it wasn't for Quick playing like garbage when it mattered most, the Kings could have won games 4 and 6. Vancouver is lucky that Quick played like Kelly Hrudey in the playoffs. Luongo also came up huge in Game 6. The Kings could have just as easily won that series.

I thought RJ was actually better than O'Donnell in the playoffs.
OD was actually OK for most of the season, but down the stretch he was BRUTAL. I'm thinking he wore down a bit, and he was over used by TM. Sean was playing top 4 minutes, and at this point in his career he shouldn't be anything more than a bottom pairing guy, or a 7th guy on a good team.
Regardless, the Vancouver series made it painfully obvious that the Kings are weak on the back end. We really only had 4 NHL caliber defensemen on the roster (DD, JJ, RS, MG). That, along with Quick's goaltending, made it extremely difficult to hold on to leads.
This is why our defense is a bigger problem than our forwards. The Kings gave up 2.57 goals per game last year. 9th worst in the NHL.
