Any deal where we send more *than* a pick + a mid level prospect for TK would be a major mistake on our part imo. I watch the Leafs play all season long and TK benefits greatly by the Leafs lacking other viable options on the blue line.

He is good and would be a solid offencive dman on a team that needs one but we have DD and JJ both of which do the job better at both ends of the ice than him. Add in that it is for only a year and we end up simply not needing him bad enough to pay closer to what he might be worth somewhere else.

If he signed an extension maybe he would be worth a more serious look but without it, pass.

Burke has stated that he is looking for a top 6 winger in exchange for Kaberle. Toronto needs to be competitive this year and Burke knows it. I'm sure he has no intention of making the leafs worse this year by trading kaberle for picks and prospects and then watch Boston pick 1st or 2nd again next June. Unless Burke has a thing for Williams, it is unlikely that LA/Toronto make good trading partners.

I would say that with what it is rumored that Burke expects in return for Kaberle and based on how many teams have been said to have been interested and have passed on TK that it is almost certain the The Leafs and the rest of the league as of this point don't make good trade partners.

Well hopefully we don't overpay for him but look for Buffalo to offer up Stafford and Sekera.

How on earth does anyone know what kaberle feels? The only player in history I can think of with talent that never spoke or limited his time with the media that is similar to Kaberle was Joe Sakic, yet apparently everyone knows his(kaberle's) intentions....this is laughable. Nobody knows, end of story!

Here's another, Mats Sundin.

He said and did the exact same things that Tk is saying and doing and while there are differences, (age position, skill level etc) they are both coming from the same team and have similar representation.

Who knows what's going on with him and what will happen but without an extension regardless of what he says his value as of today is the same as it has been and that is severely less than what seems to be being asked for by some.
