Tim Kennedy isn't really a Callahan like player; he's more of a slick playmaker type. Still, I wouldn't mind getting him off of waivers, although why he's there in the first place is very puzzling.

He won't reach us. The Maple Leafs could use him.

from a business perspective, its somewhat unrealistic to have boyle released in favor of kennedy.

sometimes, this board (and all boards) tries to play things out like a video game. fact is, a guy like boyle was hand-picked by sather; there are a lot of relationships invested. boyle's 2009 play doesn't warrant his termination.

Let's just add another million contract to the mix! Sather finally manages to get rid of two million mistakes (Voros and Rismiller) to pick up a player off of waivers?

What happened to leaving room for our own amazing prospects?

Yeah, he's never going to be around for us to claim... plain and simple. Islanders, Leafs... someone will claim him.

Kennedy won about 1/3 of his FO's last season. He's not a Center. He's a winger. He wouldn't replace Boyle.

Not much of a PKer either. Most of the minutes he logged last season was at ES. He's not real physical either. Not really 4th line material unless you're trying to roll-4 lines.

Surprised Kennedy wasn't tradeable though.. He's pretty young, has some talent, seems like a good kid..

Jesus. Freaking no. No need to make a move just for the sake of making a move.

The fourth line is not a problem. If Kennedy is the difference between us winning and losing games then we're ****ed.

Buffalo are idiots to waive him.

I'd take him pretty easily. He really is a minor Cally.

If he is still available when the other 16 or whatever teams pass on him then Slats better take him.

But he will be LONG gone.

good players that I'd love to have on my team usually don't get waived.... do we really have nothing in our system that can do the job of a Tim Kennedy??? If so, we are in worse trouble than I thought

Prospal, Avery, Frolov, EC, Roszi< Drury all gone within 2 years some within 1...there's your room.

If you want it this year I think that'd be a mistake Step, grachev, Kreider all likely need one more year of seasoning (Kreider more). Rgiht now we will likely have McD and MZA two rooks with Artem and MDZ 2nd year guys.

I don't know what "it" is. All I am saying is that the organization doesn't really need to pick up another player off the waiver wire--especially one that has not played much at center, much less on the 4th line. Boyle is nothing special, but the forth line is not going to play very much and its role will be to chip the puck out and create mayhem in the offensive zone. Kennedy is not that type of player--plus he will cost 2X as much as Boyle (or heavens forbid a player in our system like Byers).

I don't see the point of picking him up.

Wether we get this Kennedy kid or not, Boyle is trash and should be terminated forthwith.

He's a big bodies player that plays the game smaller than Nigel Dawes.

He provides nothing more than a 4th line spotter and PK'er.

We can easily replace that in our own system with someone that has a clue in the offensive zone.

Brian Boyle on this team, the way he plays the game is a waste of a roster spot.
