Tinordi cut from USA's Junior Team

http://www.usahockey.com/Template_Us...1_06&ID=290310

He's not part of the "Twenty-eight of the original 42 players attending the 2010 USA Hockey National Junior Evaluation Camp who will remain to face Finland and Sweden in a series of international games here this week

Too bad... would have been great experience for him.

In the words of Sir Alec Guinness:

Well, it's still surprising and it's still a deception ... wasn't he the captain of the under 18 team ? Will he make it next year at least ? Who is there in front of him ?

This... it's not the end of the world but it's not a good start either.

Were all kept ahead of Tinordi..

It's just too bad, I'm sure he'll make it next year. He will just get better as time progresses.

Given that Faulk, Forbort, Johns and Merrill all made the cut, it's definitely not good news. Though Tinordi's style probably doesn't lend itself that well to internation hockey...

Tinordi is a hard hitting stay-at-home Dman with great skating, the players kept are all really really talented with the puck, infact their game revolves around that. Tinordi just has to work on his puck handling, passing, slapper, etc... I'm positive he would have made it had he been an OFD.

Considering he's only 18 it's pretty early to call him a future bust... I thought D-men took longer to develop?

I'm really surprised. I'm a bit disappointed, but then again, Leblanc didn't make it. I don't believe in him less, but if he doesn't make it next year, I'll really be pissed.
I thought he was a lock though.
No reason to doubt Tinordi yet.

Like someone else said this is probably due to his style of play. I'm not a huge fan of selecting defensive D-men in the first round but as far as reliability goes, he's up there.

It stinks that he didn't make it, but his style of play doesn't really fit with team USA's. Based on where Tinordi was played in the scrimmages (third pair), I would speculate that they didn't really plan to have him on the team. Oh well, there's always next year.

At least I wont feel bad when Canada beats them this year.

A little different though; Leblanc was cut in the final round of cuts...

Wich is why i don't seen any use for a player of his potential to keep playing in the NCAA, i hope Gauthier signs him soon and he starts playing top line minutes in the A.

I can't speak from personal knowledge, but it seems as though he still needs to bulk up a bit and refine a couple of aspects of his game. I'm fine leaving him at University for at least one more year, they have a great program (some graduates include Parise, Zajac, Stafford and Oshie). I really don't want to rush him a la Paccioretty.

Team USA is really stacked this year. Probably any other year he would have made it. Either way it’s really a 19 year old tournament...so hopefully next year.

Disappointing to say the least. I'll worry when he gets cut next year, being a 19 years old.

Oh well, it'll just make him hungrier. It would not be to his benefit if everything was handed to him on a silver platter because of his family name. Let the kid work and make himself better. This just pushes him to work on his skating and beef up even more in College.
