Should we do something for Pat Burns?

This guy for me is almost a Hero, ex-police from my hometown and ex-coach of Les Olympiques de Hull.

I know he only won a Jack Adams with Montreal but sometime there's thing outside of Hockeyand this guy is a model for kids.

He's on his third cancer right now and he's probably not going to make it...

Does he deserve a 15min long ovation in the Bell Center or something?

He deserves to have someone knock some sense in to those old school cronies at the Hall of Fame to put aside their foolish policy on inducting only a certain amount of ex-players and management types per year.

MAKE AN EXCEPTION FOR CRYING OUT LOUD. PAT BURNS DESERVES IT!

Be well Pat, God bless

Actually, Pat Burns has made everything in his power in the last months to NOT be on the media spotlight. He was invited at the jersey retirement last winter but didn't want to come, because if felt he would be exposed. He's been very clear in saying that he want to spend the remaining of the time he has left with his loved ones.

I say we just leave him alone.

And we're more important than his loved ones, obviously.

We can all respect this but it's still a shame the Hall won't let him in now while he's still around. I'm sure he wouldn't mind it..

Thats a tough one actually, if he really doesnt want to be in the spotlight than Goldthorpe makes a good point. I just think that hes done so much to the hockey world as well as been an inspiration through his struggles that it would be too bad not to acknowledge him.

I say the committee should at least open the discussion with him, do their part and have him make the choice, quietly. Maybe this was already done, and he refused.
