The Worst of Les Canadiens!

For me the 2000-01 Montreal lineup is probably the worst i've seen..

http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/l...000452001.html

Best player with 47 pts...

One player with 21 goals... and it's Savage.

46 different players for at least one game. etc.

Is it your our worst lineup?

Brisebois with 15 goals, props.

Koivu with 47 points in 54 games with that supporting cast = a ton of thumbs up.

I am pretty sure saku has always had a horrid team to play for in Montreal except one yr. So you must be like a 5 yr old or something cause you obviously didn't see him play. He was an amazing leader who overcame cancer. I am pretty sure that's more of an accomplishment then winning a cup. grow up buddy. ONE player can't win you a cup. Specially when Oleg petrov and brian savage are the leading scorers on the team other then Koivu. Shake your head

Don't worry about it, you're newish to the boards and you'll get used to how sarcasm works here.

Whatever you do, don't let some ****** try and tell you Josh Gorges was a captain at some point in his career, people have been trying to pull that one on newbs since as far back as I can remember.

Those were the dark days.

But at least I still stuck by this bandwagon, even when everyone was jumping off, the wheels were breaking apart and the whole wagon itself was rusting.

But boy, oh boy did it still hurt to watch them through those years.

Please don't say someone is 5 years old when you don't know what sarcasm is.

I was too young to understand why we sucked back then, but they were still my habs and i still had fun watching them. Even if they sucked.

although you have to give credit the future defensman of markov-souray-rivet-robidas have all become very good contributors on their teams, and thats some pretty sharp scouting, 2 of em are 3rd rounders, a 6th and a 7th

you guys just reminded me of the time Olaf Kolzig was interviewed after a win against the habs.

Olaf: "ya we won, im happy but there was one point where i was almost scared. that's when one of the canadiens player went on a break away coming out of the of penalty box. When i realized it was Patrick Traverse, i relaxed and one of our guys easil caught up to him to nullify any chance he may of had".

That was also the year the entire upper management staff was fired and Savard was brought in.

Shortly after, the Polish Princess joined our team. Remember that? Remember how we were so happy to finally have a scoring winger?

And people want to get rid of AK? Lol

Collection of 1st round busts...

Kilger
Descoteaux
Fichaud
Poulin
Campbell
Dykhuis
M.Higgins
Chouinard
Ward

Maybe the most 1st rounders we have ever had on one team...but most of them were acquired as reclamation projects.

Just this should be proof that Gainey did a good job with us taking this team from that garbage to what we have now.

No Gainey was not perfect, and yes he made some mistakes, but overall, he was very good to this organization and left us with a very interesting team for years to come.

Agreed on the line-up but that line-up gave us one of the best draft pick positions since 1984.

In 84, the Canadiens had picks 5 & 8 and drafted Petr Svoboda and Shayne Corson (later they got Stéphane Richer & Patrick Roy).

In 2001, our team drafted Mike Komisarek at pick # 7. Then, later on, they drafted Alex Perezhogin (who, I believe never really got the chance he should have) and Tomas Plekanec. Not bad stuff here either.
