I think we cling to our draft picks more now because under Milbury we never got to see what they were made of. The only glimpse we had of our prospects was on other teams. If Milbury was here now, I doubt we would have Okposo, Bailey, or Tavares. He probably would have traded the picks for something ridiculous and we would be watching those 3 develop elsewhere. I think that is why we value or picks so much now, because Garth is finally hanging on to them to see what they got. Although I do agree sometimes that we use Milbury to much as an excuse. I guess you can say Isles fans have been traumatized by him.

Sal, I think the draft and prospect pipeline is emphasized now because it makes perfect sense. I applaud it. Milbury was an aberration.

I think you nailed my sentiment with your last two sentence, however. And "trauma" tends to evoke erratic, emotional decisions.
