How did Gilroy play last year in New York? His stats aren't terribly strong but he was making the jump from college straight to the pros. Is he viewed as a future top 4?

Started out great and gradually became worse as the season went on until he was sent down for conditioning,Much like MDZ he probably wasn't ready physically for a full year at the NHL level.

How many threads do we need for one subject? Scroll down the page little bit and you will find at least 2 threads where this could fit.

Like any other player it really depends on who you ask.

He certainly didnt step in and become an offensive dynamo for the rangers, but his 3rd pairing play with Redden could have been worse for a rookie, I suppose.

I think by the end of the season McDonagh will have surpassed him on the depth chart.

Check out the "If Gilroy Faulters" thread, you'll get a good idea of how he's viewed around here, mixed bag really

Didn't show much really... If he doesn't have an excellent sophomore season he's going to be playing for close to league minimum when he signs with his next team...

Not strong enough along the boards. Needs to muscle up a bit, among other things

Wasn't ready for the grind of an NHL season and playing with Wade Redden = rollercoaster season.

Although there were times during the year when he was playing 20+ minutes, his body just couldnt hold up.
