Plante. I'll jump on the Comrie bandwagon - tough to pick who's better than whom at this point.

Brickley, but why do we keep adding players? We already have our top 20 prospects and 3 honorable mentions.

edit-ok, add comrie then.

Same logic as Garrison earlier, although I would have put Garrison a bit lower.

I was torn between McArdle and Brickley, but McArdle is a surefire NHLer at this point, and we are talking about the 14th ranked guy.

Doesn't hurt to have options when we get down to that last few spots. I figure the last few spots will be wide open with the voting.

I'd be fine doing it that way, I just thought we were voting in 23 players and then that's it.

i liked mcardles play a lot last year. he might not represent scoring for this team, but he does represent the high tempo physical play that we are looking for, plus on the rare quality scoring attempt that he gets he will definitely bury it as opposed to a lot of the people that weve had on the 4th line of late. and like was said above, this is the 14th prospect so its not that big of a deal.

Precisely RCGP. The later you get with polls, the more evenly distributed the voting could become. So even a prospect not available for voting at 14, could conceivably make it later.

Seems like Salak, Cheverie and Plante won't even make our top-15... That's amazing news !!

Those three guys would certainly make a lot of top-10 around the league or top-15 if you want... And they'll struggle to make our top-20... That's great !!

Two prospects I would never vote into our top20 is McArdle and Salak. McArdle is 4-5 years older than alot of prospects and haven't proved anything.

And with Salak, I just hate his playing style. I don't think it will work in the NHL. Saw when he was played a couple of times this season, and it didn't go well. I just don't think his style is suited to the NHL.

I'm voting for Brickley as he seems to be doing well with the US team. Add Comrie.

IMO McArdle's upside is too low for him to be ranked here. He has almost no shot of becoming a top 6 player and may or may not become a 3rd line player. He's a nice player to have but I'd put him lower on the list.

except... like... *he can contribute in some way in the nhl*

you don't have to like his upside, his hands, whatever. he absolutely *has* proven more than some these guys ranked ahead of him, though. remember, as much as some salivate over some of this kids, many will never play a game or play few games in the nhl.

He's proved more than some of the younger guys. Though, obviously thats by virtue of being older in some cases. But he hasn't really proven anything of note at the professional level yet either.

The question is ; do you value more upside, or do you value concrete and absolute projections existing within a field of clearly defined limitations.

McArdle probably should be ranked between 15-20 IMO. He should certainly be behind Salak (who has actually proved alot at the Pro level, he is certainly a better AHL player) and Cherverie who was a top goaltender in the NCAA. These guys have more upside and possess a degree of high level performance at a high level of hockey.

A guy like Donskoi is going to be ranked below McArdle here. But i would absolutely rather have him in the system than McArdle.

I guess when you get to ranking at this level ; McArdle seems the obvious choice. But if someone asked you today, who would you rather keep in the system, Brickely, McArdle or Donskoi for example, you'd almost never take McArdle because we know what he is. And that "what" is barely anything.
