Salary dump for sure. Not looking good. After this season some of you will be happy to be done with those, "whiny amerks fans."

yeah but there has to be more to this. i dont see why tallon would just dump the best players from rochester like this. what i think is that those contracts sexton signed were to expensive for rochester, they just wanted us to pay for everything. now management in rochester is realizing that tallon isnt going to pay for it all, so they're asking him to move salary.
i do believe we should assist rochester with a couple of great veterans, but if they want more than we can offer, they can pay for it themselves.

Another slap in the face to Amerk fans. Trade an AHL all star caliber player for a guy who saw the majority of time in the ECHL last season. This all but confirms the affiliation will be over. Florida knows it, Rochester knows it and Florida is just getting salary off the books.

Amerks don't want to pay the entire salaries, Panthers don't want to pay anything. Now we're seeing the salaries dumped and the Amerks becoming a last place team again.

I had no idea what was going on with Florida and the Amerks, which is why when I logged on this morning to see this, I was utterly shocked.

I loved Mink in Hershey and didn't get to many chances to watch him with the Amerks.

Fast, I can say, will not wow you in anyway. He was likely to spend another season in Alaska as Peoria's D is pretty well stocked so I am a fan of this deal for sure.

Could I get some more insight though on the Cats/Amerks situation?

If TJ Fast is playing with the Panthers next season, have fun finishing last. Fast isn't even an AHL player more or less an NHL one.

Joe Callahan is mediocre at best as well. Several better AHL defenseman available. Oh well, at least this confirms what we already knew. Lame duck season here.

Panthers Sign Blueliner Mike Weaver to 2-year contract

andystrickland

D-man Mike Weaver signs two years with Florida Panthers at $900,000 per season. Great deal for a great person less than 10 seconds ago via web

* Reply

He's small, 5-9 182, so I don't know where he is going to fit in but this is a Florida signing, not a depth signing to be called up from Rochester as he played 77 games with St.Louis last season. 339 NHL games total with 4 teams.

Shouldn't be lumped in with the other two as Weaver has established himself as a NHL player.

the "discussion" or whatever there will be after these moves will still end up in the same thread so I just thought I would make it easier for everyone.. if u want it changed ask a mod, I have to get to work now.
