2010 Top Prospects - #7

the closest poll yet, one less vote for Bowman and I would have been adding 2 prospects to the set top 10 list.

1) RW/C Jeff Skinner - 37.74%
2) D Jamie McBain - 70.73%
3) LW Zach Boychuk - 72.97%
4) C/RW Zac Dalpe - 48.78%
5) C Riley Nash - 45.95%
6) W Drayson Bowman - 32.56%

added RW Jerome Samson
next 2 to be added: D Tommi Kivisto, D Austin Levi

Judging from the last poll, this should come down to Dumoulin & Sanguinetti. I'm going to go with Sanguinetti. His offensive tools are A+ and I am really hoping to see some strides taken defensively this season. Dumoulin I'll likely go with next round, although I still feel fairly unfamiliar with him. Perhaps I'll give him the benefit of the doubt based on others educated opinions, which are encouraging. For now, I'll go Sanguinetti because his offensive potential and the likelihood he can translate it to the NHL look promising, to me.

I went with Sanguinetti here, it was close between him and Dumoulin.

Does anyone know if there's a minimum amount of posts needed to vote in polls? I know I'm new here, but it hasn't let me vote in any of these polls... Do I have to go through something with my account or whatever?

Put me down for Sangs, his tools are too good for him to have dropped this far. Defense can always be learned, but his skills don't come around too often.

I threw away my vote on general principle to Justin Faulk.

Faulk will end up as a better defenseman than anyone currently in our prospect pool.

I'm calling it, and if I'm wrong it doesn't really matter because you will have forgotten about this call FAR before you actually know if I was right or not

The "rookie user" status does it. Until you hit 100 posts, I believe, you're classified as a user who could potentially be a spammer or other things.

Well I've voted Dumoulin the last 2 so gotta vote for him again. I would be higher on Sanguinetti if he didn't have all the questions marks surrounding his defensive ability - the most important aspect of being a D-man. He's definitely a lot closer than Dumoulin but he is also 3 years ahead of him.

Thank you sir, can I borrow 50 of yours? With 15,000 I'm sure you wouldn't miss them

I went with sangs. Probably deserved better.

And a vote for getting Lawson on the list.

For reference, I've been able to vote on these polls. The rookie user status probably has more to do with how long someone has been a member of the site.

That's probably it, thanks. Just gotta wait it out. Hopefully it's either or, I have a good "post rate," haha.

Dumoulin. Ahhh, I can't believe Sangs is gonna win this one. I love his offensive upside but he's absolutely infuriating to watch his own end. If he was just poor in his own end I'd be fine, but on top his it he's so soft and can not win a battle for his life. He honestly makes Ryan Whitney look like Chara. Oh well. No point in fighting a losing battle.

Actually, I think it's either one or the other. I think if you reach 100 posts before the allocated time to become a registered user, then your account is "activated", so to speak. Kind of like how an oil change is recommended for every 3,000 miles or every 3 months.

I was 51% Dumoulin and 49% Faulk. That said, my vote is tempered at the fact that I've never seen most of our prospects play. Regardless, I think Faulk's stock will rise in the next year or two the more we get to know him.
