Hockey Tool Kit?

I am trying to put together a set of tools for my sister who is going to be a team equipment manager. What are tools that you would consider a necessity to have with you at all times for hockey?

Scissors or a razor blade to cut stick tape for changing on the fly....

Phillips / flat head screw driver for those helmets..

Possably extra screws. I've had a couple come lose and lost them. and had to screw back on my button thing in the back of my helm for the cage strap.

A multi tool leatherman thing should take care of most things I would imagine.

May not be the most important things, but maybe a Leather or regular Sewing kit, Possibly Wax, Glue Sticks, or even something like a snowboarding tool, Laces, Lace tightener.

Definitely a Leatherman and Side Honing stone no doubt.

Hockegiant has the skate tools
Don't forget towels or something for visors

Not sure how much of this stuff you'll want to drag out, but if you have say a plastic tote to bring to each game...

Stick tools:
- heat gun
- glue gun w/ lots of glue
- hacksaw
- mitre box
- rasp file

Helmet tools:
- philips & flathead screwdrivers
- extra screws for helmets (they sell a helmet repair kit)

Miscellaneous:
- pocket knife
- scissors (multiple pairs if possible)
- sharpening stone
- sweet stick (for emergencies)

Handy stuff:
- lots of tape in all colors
- extra laces in a few lengths
- towels

In my bag I just have a leatherman, a stone, extra laces, and tape.

I was going to say this. I just bought a Bauer emergency helmet repair kit for like 7 bucks the other day. It has all different kinds/sizes of screws and snaps that are universal.

Thinking of the goalie needs:
  • screw rivets of a couple of different sizes
  • waxed leather thread with both straight and curved needles
  • leather strips (can be trimmed and shaped to replace a goalie strap that rips, and sewed on with the needle/thread, allowing the goalie to go back in the game in minutes)
  • spare toe caps, or leather scraps to create a temperary toe cap if one tears
  • Extra skate laces for toe ties
  • extra mask buckles for when they break
  • 3/4 inch elastic for fixing the backplate

I guess helmet visor spacers too if they wear visors.

Perfect. The only things I could add would be a first aid kit, extra mouthguards and extra neckguards (If the league requires them).
