Best Bantam AAA Tournaments?

As the upcoming hockey season is fastly approaching, its time to star thinking about tournaments.

I am aware that team Managers start applying for desired tournaments during the months preceding the start of the season-but what in your opinion are the "must go to" Bantam AAA Tournaments?

Please explain why you chose the tournament?

Im strictly only talking about the Western Canadian provinces and possibly into Washington state.

Thanks in advance

KIBIT is a good one! Once held in Kamloops and I believe is now out of Langley......LIBIT, doesn't quite have the same ring to it!

Medicine Hat tournament. It's been around for something like 35 years. Well organized, very high level of competition.

Best Tournament

In Alberta the best tournament is St.Albert. I Believe it is invite only though. But this tournament annually has a pile of scouts attend.

St Albert is the tournament that teams enter when they cannot get into the Med Hat one . Which is by far the best

Get a grip. There was no tournament anywhere in Western Canada last year, that had the depth of the John Reid tournament in St. Albert. All the games are played in one facility, making it easy to jump back and forth between games. The tournament banquet, alone, distinguishes this tournament from all others.

Did I say that the food was the ONLY reason to go? Sorry I'll be more specific next time. I just naturally assumed that everyone would know that you attend hockey tournaments to watch hockey...

Have to agree, Med Hat and John Reid definately the 2 best. Thought the JRMT really took it up a notch from Med Hat, unbelievable depth of teams and the best talent from Western Canada and having the LA Selects there definately didn't hurt.

Medicine Hat last year was a strong tournament, BWC over Notre Dame in final, and LA selects blew everyone out at ST Albert and beat BWC 3 to 2 in final.

Medicine Hat is a good early season indicator and lots of teams did both last year, BWC, Notre Dame , NSWC, Ft Sask, SSAC, Airdrie, Calgary Bisons, Calgary Broncs.

Good hockey at both tournaments apples and oronges

good picks, but Burnaby at christmas brings some talent to the top....

spent time at the South Delta tournament this past weekend, the talent was good...but would have liked to seen some top end teams, like BWC, Abby...

Any updates on American Tournaments? Applied for the usual Tournaments in B.C. but was also looking at some of the Southern US ones as a great getaway.

I fall into that category where my team that I coach has players that have not defected (three in particular who play on the big Spring League teams) and need the exposure. Sadly, if you aren't in the top ten, you often get overlooked as the 13-24 Flight II range.

You may be too late to get into the Nike-Bauer in Chicago, unless there have been some cancel out. It is the tournament with the most talent and the best hockey. Teams from overseas, Ont., Que., Western Canada, and some real good teams from the north central U.S. I attend this tournament most years, missed last yr.
