Why? Why would any of these teams move their young star?

you're suggesting that new york would trade staal for schenn, which is simply silly.

How does this help the teams?

Schenn may have more upside than Staal, but hes still a year of development behind, and isnt as proven.

As for Schenn for Sutter, Sutter has upside, but he will never be more than a 55 pt guy.

Just making sure.

Wow, nice to know you can't read.

He said the Staal is more proven, but Schenn may have more upside.

So, basically, as of right now, he's saying:

Staal>Schenn.

The Rangers give up by far the best player here. Just a LOL worthy deal.

Schenn does not have more upside than Staal. Even if he did, the Rangers still say no because it's not worth downgrading at the position on the basis that Schenn could become better.

How? Schenn is two years younger, and at his age, Staal could only manage 2 goals and 10 points. Schenn had 5 goals. Defensively, Schenn is a more solid hitter, and has a better first pass. While Staal gets the nod in all other aspects, Schenn clearly has more to give.

I think its people like you who fail to understand how development works. Im not saying NY should trade Staal for Schenn, because if I was NY i wouldnt. What i am saying is that Luke has more potential.

It's actually not that ridiculous to say he has more potential. I don't exactly believe Schenn will turn out to be the better player, but I do believe he has the potential to be just as good. It''s hard to say though, no one really knows how good there going to be in the future. We'll just have to wait and see.

M.Staal >> B.Sutter... now and in the future.

Also, D is Carolina's most pressing need. You're just arguing to the contrary because your ego is too big to admit the glaring value gap. Get real.
