If I could vote in the poll, I'd say Gallagher.

And add Cichy.

Gallagher! But there are still plenty of intriguing/nice prospects left (like Trunev, Shultz... or even Trotter, who probably shouldn't still be there)

Should be Trotter or Trunev right now, not Gallagher.

I am surprised everyone is picking Gallagher ahead of MacMillan and Ellis, since they were both picked one round before him in a draft held less than 2 months ago.

What does everyone see in Gallagher that professional scouts did not?

Did he suddenly grow a couple of inches taller?

I am not saying he is not a better prospect, since I have not seen any of those 3 players and cannot pass judgement. I am just surprised everyone is going against the professional scouts that have seen them all play.

Dosen't matter that he was picked a round later, he's still very good. He put up great numbers in the WHL with Vancouver and was picked later because he is small. But hey, he is in Canada's Junior development camp so he is definetly a good prospect.
Ellis is good all around, but nothing spectacular. He needs to work on his offense though. And MacMillan put up good points, but at a lower level than Gallagher and he's less fiesty than Gallagher. Think of Gallagher as a Brian Gionta player.

I don't think dcal64 was saying that Gallagher is not very good - his question was if there was a reason that some rate Gallagher (147) ahead of MacMillan (113) and Ellis (117) when they have not played/been developed since draft day. Obviously the Habs scouts saw more in Mac and Ellis, so it certainly goes against the scouting team's assessments.
