Meh, who cares? If he makes it then he can be a pleasant surprise in a stacked pool that's gonna have some busts.

Am I the only one that noticed 2 errors? Markstrom's GAA last year was 2.01, not 1.61. Grabner was acquired in a trade with Vancouver, not Toronto.

who cares? its a discussion forum....

point is - if birkholz, shore and jenks are 7.0 C's, dadonov should be at least as well - he is easily the better prospect.

hell, even adam comrie is rated higher than dadonov....

Nice read although I find it weird it says Ellerby could start with the big team and Garrison is just challenging.

Garrison will start with the big team for sure.

Where is Robak gonna play? AHL?

3 errors. Markstrom doesn't really have any problems with his rebound control. In the last WJC he was a vacuum.

That is a very good list mate. But I might move Salak a few spots down, and maybe Petrovic a few up.

I'm not really going to get involved with any discussion about the Top 20 but I just thought I'd stop by and say that Dadonov's grading was a typo. That should read as 7.0. Sorry.

the interesting part is that the list doesn't follow the order of the grades. im not sure what the rationale behind that is.

so did hyman

the number means potential on a nhl roster scale, the letter means the likelihood of it coming true...

The reason for that is that the grades indicate different things (you can check out what they mean here). So (for example), you could have a future 2nd liner who puts up decent numbers but can't play defense and then you could also have a future 3rd liner with great leadership and shutdown abilities. I'd prefer to have the future 3rd liner with leaderships. But because he's a 3rd liner he would be a 6.0 while the player with top-six offensive skills but no defensive awareness would score a 7.0. In other words, the numbers also indicate what type of player they'll become, rather than it simply being 10 is the best and 0 is the worst.

Also, the ratings mean different things depending on position. There are a bunch of different factors to consider as well.

Ah, I'll clarify. I have no problem giving my reasoning behind something but at the same time I don't want to get into debates either. I'm obviously going to stand behind my work and I think it would be unprofessional to get into heated debates about what I've written.

Nothing's completely black and white though. I don't mind discussing things in a civilized way sometimes. I also don't want to be expected to reply and defend absolutely everything.

This is just me, but i think Hyman could definitely end up being a massive steal. For some reason, i just see him being able to get it done at the NHL level.

I like Grabner, but he's overrated on your list. 7.0B makes sense to me.
