Question of the night: Will we score a run at Citi Field this season?

Gotta feel for Hamels... he's been awesome basically every start over the last 3+ months, yet the team just doesn't score runs when he's on the mound. That's his second 1-0 loss to the Mets in six days! In 9 of his last 13 starts, Hamels has received three runs or less of support, and he managed to win two of those games. In 5 of those starts, the Phillies have scored one run or been shut out. Wanna know how many times Hamels has given up more than three runs in a start since April 28? Twice. And he's 7-9. Unbelievable.

They can't figure out the knuckleball. Same thing happened back in May or June when they faced Wakefield and Dickey in back to back nights and it took them a month to figure out how to hit the ball again.

Yeah, it's certainly been a bugaboo for this offense. Then again, they figured out Dickey in his last start and roughed him up.

It's to the point where I feel bad for Hamels. Like, you know he's gotta feel like ****, but I feel like **** after he pitches anymore, too. Not because he sucks, but because the guy couldn't buy run support. He had the only hit through, what, six innings? Come the **** on.

That was not a good game. Except for Hamels. That was great, great outing by him espcially after having that homer reviewed he got the three outs.

Only allowing one run should get you a win.

I still don't see how in their judgment they ruled he should be awarded third. Sure the bounce went away from Ibanez, but who knows, if the fan didn't touch that ball maybe Raul had the rebound played perfectly? Stick with the ground rule double, umps.

Another great performance from Hamels. Another great performance from Hamels wasted. After fighting so hard to avoid sliding to 3 GB last night, we go quietly there tonight.

Without consulting the rule book, I'm pretty sure they blew that call. The runner(I'm drawing a blank on his name right now) was pretty slow and there was no way in hell he'd get a triple out of that.

I don't know what to make of the rest of the game other than the fact the Phils just can't hit knuckleballs.

Sometimes the knuckleball is more about the pitcher than the batter. If it's not moving, they're just meatballs.

Cole Hamels is killing it for my fantasy team. The Phils offense is killing my fantasy team.

Also without consulting the rule book, I'm fairly certain what would award the runner the additional base would be the umpire's judgement of being half way or more. But I didn't see the play. As for the knuckleball...at least there won't be any of those in the playoffs if they get there.

Motion seconded...twice. He's on both my teams, and I'm probably one of his bigger advocates around here. This year's been a special sort of crappy for him.

If anything, at least we know Cole is back. Last year, that lead off "triple" would've led to a four run inning. This year, Cole goes 1-2-3 after it.

With Hamels on right now, we really have a sick rotation.

To bad the offense hates us.

it really impressed me when he gave off the leadoff double to reyes and stranded him at 3rd. You could tell he got really pissed off at that and determined he was not going to let him score, even on a sac fly.

he definitely is a beast.
