Well, tremendous proof there why folks dive. Donovan literally leaped into the air with both skates, and it worked and they got the PP and the goal.

Kiprusoff is saving Calgary's bacon in this game. It could very easily be 2-1 Tampa if not for his effort.

Okay, pack it up, nothing more to see here. Flames defense is too good, they can just shut it down and wait for the inevitable break. This is just what I expected to happen. TB will buzz around the perimeter of the Calgary zone, and one or two of the defensemen giving up his position to go for the goal will get burned.

Why would he dive on a breakaway?

LMAO...do you know how many breakaway goals Donovan has scored this year? Diving to get a FLAMES PP would be STUPID!

Not to exaggerate one shift too much...but that was one horrible shift by Regehr...giveaway, breakaway, take out your own goalie...wow...

Gretzky must have been thinking "yikes"

Yes, I'm sure he's the only player on that team that has had a bad shift.

Is he the only player on the World Cup team who had a bad shift????

Calm down...I'm just saying it was a bad shift...if a guy is supposed to be an "elite" defenceman, the scrutiny goes up...

Nice goal by Donovan...wow

Kabibulen is sucking it up tonight. This could turn ugly if he doesn't get his head out.

Good Lord Calgary has it in spades right now. Up until the last few minutes, I thought Tampa was clearly the better team. No questions asked, Calgary, in my mind, was the inferior team. But, as with a lot of their wins in the playoffs, things just go their way. Brad Richards gets a break and misses. Donovan in a similar situations pots it. Calgary has made a habit out of winning when they get outplayed. They completely frazzled San Jose and Detroit in this regard and they are doing it once again.

Though I would like to see some emphasis put on stopping the holdings. There's a reason St. Louis hasn't done much. I'd like to see the NHL make a concerted effort to stop away from the play holding. They made an effort to cut down on cross checks for this game. Maybe holding will be the focus in the next.

Oh, that's it. The TB goaltender is sucking. It's nothing the Flames have done. I knew something like this was coming.

Jesus Flamin'. Khabibulin is sucking tonight. Period. That's just the way it is tonight. He isn't being a difference maker. And Kiprusoff is.

Get over yourself.

Ok Ok...I admit Gretzky was probably not thinking "Yikes"...more like a lower official like Steve Tambellini or Jacques Martin was thinking "Yikes"

So the Flames were lucky that Richards missed and Donovan was lucky to score?

How exactly does that work?

I'm wondering just how much more pathetic the phenomenon of believing the Flames are where they are purely by luck will become. It's ridiculous already.

He didn't have a breakaway. He got checked, wasn't in the clear, knew he wasn't going to be able to get a great scoring chance, so he dove. It was clear as day. He wasn't even being touched anymore when he literally leaped into the air.

Don't get all defensive. It was a *smart* play.

Agreed. That was a great save earlier on Modin, when initially it looked like he missed the net.

The flames are winning because of Kiprusoff right now. You'd have to be a real homer to think otherwise. Tampa has had the better chances, and Bulin has let in two goals he normally wouldn't.

But we were told Khabibulin was the better goaltender and the best in the playoffs this year. I'm just reacting to what's been said by the opposition fans in this forum.

Will you get that stick out of your ass? You're taking all these posts personally when thay aren't really shots at your team. Of course Donovan was lucky to get the puck there; all teams need a little luck to be succesful. It happens. I'm not sure why you're trying to fight everything tonight.
