Sportsnet One on Shaw?

Hello I get Shaw HD and Rogers Sportsnet HD TSN 1 and 2 in HD but has anyone heard any news on whether Shaw will carry it. I need it.

I don't think anyone really needs a 5th all sports HD channel.

as far as im concerned The Score isn't a Canadian Sports Channel because it doesn't have the NHL, only some highlight packs, college hockey and discussion.

And lots of basketball (Tuesdays are epic), which is where Canadian sports broadcasting often loses.

Just chatted with a customer rep at Shaw in the live chat, here is his response:

Quote:
... I believe it will be before the season starts. Not sure at this time whether it's going to be added to the basic lineup or if it will be a subscription channel, but I would be amazed if we don't get it. Considering the amount of Vancouver Canucks programming, hockey games and other sports we'd be missing out on it would be a huge miss in not carrying it. As a Canucks fan myself this is one I will certainly be pushing for if we don't get it, but again, with that being said I'd be stunned if we aren't adding it to the lineup.

Unless you are Canucks fan and want to watch the games in HD that used to be on in-house PPV.

It'll be on Shaw.. I don't have anything to confirm it (I do work for them but I don't deal wtih cable stuff or anything) but, with Canucks games being on there, I can't see them not being on there.

That being said, it may cost more $$.. all depends on what Rogers charges cable providers to carry it. And it may come down to a last minute deal if they try to hold the cable companies hostage on the amount of $$ they want. Look at what happened with TSN2 and Rogers.. took forever and a last minute deal when people in Ontario wouldn't have been able to see a Jays/Sox series that everyone else in Canada would have been able to see.

Shaw is the largest Television Provider in the Lower Mainland, So it being on Bell is NOT more important.

It better be available from Shaw.

And hopefully it's either in the basic package or the package that expands to TSN2 and whatnot. Because then I'd have it without any extra hassle or dollars spent.

That'll all depend on how much Rogers wants cable providers to pay to carry the channel. Unfortunately, the cost that Rogers wants gets passed on to consumers (unfortunate.. but that is business).

I hope Novus carries it. Not nearly as big as Shaw or Telus but it serves a lot of the high rises downtown.

I didn't count the Score either. I included the Big Ten Channel though.

I could care less about the lower mainland, I don't live there and I don't have Shaw. So it being on Bell is more important to me, and that's what I meant.
