I'm against further pillaging of our farm system, which DW has already done a good job at.
First off, I'm against a Mike Commodore acquisition. The man's no better than Douglas Murray. Not a minute-eater. Not mobile. Not that good at the shutdown role.
Secondly, you'd rather make a lateral move as opposed to one that makes the team better? In reality, moving prospects is based on needs and expectations. There are only a handful of players outside the pro roster that's actually expected to be an impact player for the team in the future. Everyone else is a maybe, could be, or long shot. And how many of those do you really need to have? If a trade is out there that involves acquiring a top four d-man that would fit what we're looking for, I would damn sure pull the trigger if it needed to include a Charlie Coyle and a 1st and the value was right.
ugly 1 indeed commodore aint worth a 7th round pick yet clowe. maybe if they threw in filatov or another good young player and a 1st. a guy like commodore aint worth squat 19 minutes 6th damn 3.8 million a yr(worse deal than finger). they could sign mitchell and cost them 2 million and keep clowe. must be a columbus fan. still better than some kaberle offers ive seen, lol

Not to be rude or anything of the sort, but what would you suggest that the Sharks do to address their soft defense? Since in many posts I've seen you're opposed to trading Clowe and breaking up the top 6. Ideas?
Clowe is almost redundant on the Jackets - wouldn't mind having him, but we don't particularly need him and therefore have no particular desire to give up assets for him.
That said, offering Commodore is a particularly bad joke that should get someone set on fire. I fully expect him to have a bounceback season, but even if he was putting up career years all this time he isn't nearly enough for a guy like Clowe.
Fail on all counts, really.

Thanks, Howson, for cleaning up MacLean's toxic waste. Welcome, Kekalainen; let's get good things built!
Why on earth would we even want Clowe? I'd rather just keep Commodore.

Yes, because Clowe is worth Filatov and a 1st. I guess I should also mention that Commodore is not a 6th defender and he is a decent option on the 2nd pairing minus last year. Commodore's contract is also not worse than Finger's I don't know why you post such stupidity. Also how many Columbus fans do you know that live in California? It's more likely a San Jose fan right because in-case you haven't noticed Columbus fans on here don't ever come on here making proposal threads because of the general ignorance about the players on our team and the needs of our team/market.
No, because then we lose our best minute eating PMD. A late first round pick in a top heavy draft will do this team no good. We don't need more prospects.
SJfortheCUP. Why trade Clowe for a rental? We tried this with Campbell and it didnt work. We already have Boyle. We are not desprate for him like we were for Campbell.
Get someone who can fill the void for a year, then sign a UFA next year with the money freed up from Huskins/Wallin.
