My guess would be smith would be the starter for opening night. he looked good in his two starts, plus i really think they are hoping he can return to his number 1 form.

I was just curious who the starting goalie may be to start the season? I know they signed ellis but wasnít sure if he was brought in to be the number one or two.

This, but I'm not sure about the return to #1 form. That will come with time. Smith has been the one playing, and playing better, recently. I think they'll go with him.

None of us are really sure, TBH.

Based on how Guy has done it in the past, it'll be whoever doesn't suck right that moment.

I think Smith will get the nod on opening night and go from there.

Yes its only the Panthers etc etc...but he looked pretty good in his two starts and what he really has going for him is he didnt look like Ellis against Edmonton.

Smitty made two absolutely highlight reel amazing saves in the last game and the only goal scored against him was due to a freak bounce off the new boards and even then he got a piece of it.

Or the Thrashers, but half a dozen difference of the same.

Seriously, this is the only question I have right now for tomorrow.

Nobody knows yet apart from Boucher and SFY I'd imagine. Smith seems to be the favourite after two pretty strong performances against the Panthers, but nothings concrete yet.

They will most likely get an even amount of starts around the start of the season until one of them gets hot. Or alternatively, one of them gets so bad that they cant play them anymore.

No.

He will be 'getting used to the North American game in Norfolk'.

To paraphrase Boucher the starting goalie will be the goalie who starts the game that night.

I kinda miss Tanguay's general lack of interest.

We'll find a new whipping boy soon enough. Hell it didn't take us two weeks to find a new one after Kraijeck was gone.

?? Not sure what you mean. I meant it was only the Panthers that Smith played his two good games against in the preseason.
