Working with the Panthers

As some of you know, I'm going to Miami in September for some three months (maybe more). My question to you is, do you think it's possible to get to work/volunteer with the Panthers?

I'm talking cleaning toilets, selling popcorn, ANYTHING related to the Cats and BAC.

So where should one go to contact them?

I saw some "Human Resources" in the "Contact Us"-section at the website.
I'll write a e-mail to that address.

I've noticed some of you have e-mailed the new owners and got answers, GP for example.

Do you recommend that?

This might be far fetched, but atleast a try, and a try doesn't hurt, does it?

You could have been one of those guys who throws shirts at people in the crowd but the registration for it was last month.

Miami Heat laid off all their season ticket sales reps, reason, nothing to sell, all the tickets were sold. Panthers seem to have started a new campaign, but maybe they hired ex-Heat reps (if they needed any).
Another thing is immigration status, you are from Sweden? Times are much tougher now, even people from Scandinavia are being sent back, innocently chatting with passport official "i'm here to help my friend etc".

You're permitted to stay three months in the U.S without green card, right?

My aunt and counsins lives in Miami Beach.

Depends upon immigration agreements between each country and the U.S.

In most cases you need a visa, and you can stay however long the visa allows you to. Most of the work-exchange students I've known in recent years were on three month visas.

All right, I graduated this summer so technically I'm not a student anymore.

Leaving the country for a week or so gives me three more months.
So basically I can stay how long I want?

No offense to anyone here, but you should probably contact the proper authorities in regards to what you would need to do to work in the US.

Being allowed to stay and being allowed to work are completely different issues.

You can't hold a job on the 3 month visitor visa. Took me a while to get a job permit (while waiting for the green card), and I had to become a permanent resident first. There may be different visas that you can arrange with Sweden prior to your trip though, but you'd have to speak to the authorities about that. Your school or job would probably need to establish some kind of a connection to the BAC.

Maybe you could volunteer at the Savology Iceplex? The Panthers probably spend more time there with work-outs, practice etc.

Yes, you don't need permission to volunteer, right?

I'm not sure, but I don't see anything on their site about volunteering. All I see are jobs.

Maybe, if you do volunteering for some non-profit organization, Red Cross etc, but not for business.

Nice.

I'll probably be applying with them after my internship with the Lightning is up and i graduate in May. Depending on a thousand and one factors...

Good luck with getting the job!
