moldova held sweden to 2:1. That's my team boys.....both goals were scored of our own D....and the goal we scored was pretty nice actually. Definitely not going anywhere this year, but maybe with time we can move up in the rankings.

England - Ghana was a decent game, enjoyed it

France-Croatia played to a 0:0 draw, France had the better of the chances, hit the post and missed a one on one but Croatia had some decent chances as well. Ribery was booed/whistled when he came on but played very well and seemed to have quickly changed the fans reactions after a few nice dribblings

Well that was a boring game (Argentina vs Costa rica). The only good parts of this game was Rojo, Benega and Pastore (2nd half).

Rojo seems like a good player this is my 4th or 5th time watching him he looks good IMO.

Germany lost to Australia, not too fussed given the team we put out there.

My Australian friends are going mental over the win celebrating, is winning a friendly that important?

A German B squad is probably better than an Australian A squad, and the fact that Australia got smoked 0-4 during the last World Cup probably has something to with it.

A German B squad is also very inexperienced at international level for the most part.

I don't really see how you can claim revenge by winning 2-1 in a friendly after being smoked in the WC, but maybe that's just me, I'm not use to seeing Germany smoked in WC's

ECQL: Sweden-Finland 7. June 2011

For Finland, after the disastrous losses against Moldova and Hungary, this is all about the pride. Horrible coach Stuart Baxter is gone and now the legendary Mixu Paatelainen is rallying the troops. Cannot get worse.

Sweden although are trying to secure the 2nd spot after the Netherlands since two of team with highest points at 2nd place qualify automatically (i have no idea, correct me if i'm wrong)

Sweden is, and always has been, a par above Finland in football. And now since our "golden generation" with Litmanen, Hyypiä, Jääskeläinen, Tainio etc. are retiring from NT it'll be even more difficult task. If Finland wins, it'll be one of the greates results in our history and if Sweden lose though it'll be a disaster for them.

From Finland Roman Eremenko is propaply the key player. He plays as a holding midfielder and if he can link up with his older brother Alexei in the attack we might do good. We are very weak in attack and if Mikael Forssell doesn't succeed we might see some young talents in the field like Roope Riski (Cesena), Teemu Pukki (HJK) or Lauri Dalla Valle (Fulham).

Sweden is ahead in every field of the pitch. What I most worry is how can our young and small defend, without Hyypiä and Tihinen, cope with the likes of Zlatan and Toivonen.

Supposedly there is gonna be a lot of Finnish fans in Stockholm even though the "fanboat" was cancelled. Hope it doesn't get ugly like it got in Helsinki when we played against the Russians.

1 Netherlands 6 6 0 0 21 5 16 18
2 Sweden 4 3 0 1 11 5 6 9
3 Hungary 6 3 0 3 15 13 2 9
4 Moldova 5 2 0 3 6 5 1 6
5 Finland 4 1 0 3 10 6 4 3
6 San Marino 5 0 0 5 0 29 -29 0

Merged this with the International thread that was bumped off the page. It's worth a bump with qualifiers coming up in a couple weeks.

Anything that is not a clear victory against Finland would be a disaster.

Hope it doens't end 6-1. We would never hear the end of it.

e: Zlatan is playing right? He hasn't got any injuries or too many cards?

Another question: Does Sweden has any games (even practice) before the match against Finland? We have a EQ- game against San Marino which will be great for our newcoming couch and the the team wich overall age is under 27. (We are clearly heading for the next qualifications, again).

We're playing Moldova away from home before the Finland game and yes, Ibrahimovic is healthy and in the squad.

Mikael Antonsson, FC København 4/0
Andreas Granqvist, FC Groningen 11/2
Mikael Lustig, Rosenborg BK 14/1
Daniel Majstorovic, Celtic FC 40/2
Olof Mellberg, Olympiacos CFP 105/7
Behrang Safari, FC Basel 21/0
Oscar Wendt, FC København 14/0
Emir Bajrami, FC Twente 8/1
Johan Elmander, Bolton Wanderers FC 53/14
Alexander Gerndt, Helsingborgs IF 5/1
Tobias Hysén, IFK Göteborg 15/2
Zlatan Ibrahimovic, AC Milan 68/25
Kim Källström, Olympique Lyonnais 80/13
Sebastian Larsson, Birmingham City FC29/1
Martin Olsson, Blackburn Rovers FC 3/2
Anders Svensson, IF Elfsborg 114/18
Ola Toivonen, PSV Eindhoven 13/2
Pontus Wernbloom, AZ Alkmaar 14/2
Christian Wilhelmsson, Al Hilal 65/5

A bit scary to be honest. Experience in the defense, speed in the flanks, creativity in the middle and Zlatan as a striker.

Finland (against San Marino and Sweden)
Jukka Lehtovaara, TPS 15.03.1988 1/0
Lukas Hradecky, Esbjerg fB 24.11.1989 2/0
Anssi Jaakkola, Kilmarnock FC 13.03.1987 0/0
Veli Lampi, Willem II 18.07.1984 23/0
Niklas Moisander, AZ Alkmaar 29.09.1985 17/1
Markus Heikkinen, SK Rapid Wien 13.10.1978 58/0
Petri Pasanen, Werder Bremen 24.09.1980 63/1
Jukka Raitala, Hoffenheim 15.09.1988 4/0
Joona Toivio, Djurgårdens IF 10.03.1988 2/0
Kasper Hämäläinen, Djurgårdens IF 08.08.1986 12/2
Alexander Ring, HJK 09.04.1991 0/0
Tim Sparv, FC Groningen 20.02.1987 14/0
Riku Riski, RTS Widzew Lodz 16.08.1989 2/0
Mika Väyrynen, SC Heerenveen 28.12.1981 49/5
Roman Eremenko, (only in Sweden) FC Dynamo Kyiv 19.03.1987 34/1
Alexei Eremenko jr, Kilmarnock FC 24.03.1983 50/13
Roni Porokara KFC, Germinal Beerschot 12.12.1983 20/5
Perparim Hetemaj, Brescia Calcio 12.12.1986 4/0
Mikael Forssell, Hannover 96 15.03.1981 74/24

Finland squad is not full yet since Mixu has so many players at the camp right now in Helsinki. He'll choose additions from there. Hopefully 19-year-old full back Carl Jenkinson (Arsenal) and striker Roope Riski (Cesena) would get a call-up.
(Why are Hämäläinen and Toivio there? They've been **** in Djurgården )

At paper this is 3-0 for Sweden but Finlands new coach might have some cards in his sleeve.

Behrang Safari has dropped out of the squad for personal reasons.

Not that big a loss, I love what he offers going forward, but his defending is quite poor.
Oscar Wendt is better.

Im thinking that we will play surpisingly good but still lose by quite clear numbers like 3-1 or 3-0.
