Brazil - Holland 0-0

Red card for Ramires, and Neymar should've gotten one too for three blatant dives where he didn't get touched + a flailing arm in Pieters' face.

Brazil were way better in the second half until the red card. Oranje a bit better in the first.

I really don't know what to think about Neymar. Spectacular moves, but damn is he arrogant. Talent is apparently not everything...

Disappointed to see our side resting quite a few important guys. I understand it, but it makes this game more one-sided than it already would have been.

To be fair Spain isn't 100% either.

Terrible defending on the 3rd.

tbh he kinda was the best player on the pitch besides Krul. The only winger consistently causing trouble. Kuijt, Robben and Elia did nothing at all.

I know, but just look at the scene where he falls in the penalty area...

If he starts to play more mature he really could become one of the best players of the world. Astonishing skills and speed are not everything.

Precisely, the defending world champions will be a huge financial draw anywhere.

I was on my phone so I couldn't elaborate. Otherwise I would have said besides that. There is no benefit to our on the pitch play as a result of scheduling Brazil, Argentina, Spain every international break. The more games we play against these teams, the more the players lose chemistry and the more they look like a mess. Strictly speaking in terms of on the pitch, the games are a waste of time. That doesn't mean you try to schedule games against teams like Venezuela, Latvia, Estonia, Togo, etc..it means the US needs to find a better medium in their opposition. Making the team's opposition competitive while not overwhelming and still somewhat appealing for crowds. Most of the games should be against teams like Paraguay, South Korea, Ireland...that kind. Two of those opponents you'd be able to sell a lot of tickets against and still have a competitive match.

A game against Ireland in particular, if the US can get it and have it played in New York or Boston, is a license to print money.

Didn't get to see it, but not a bad result for the Oranje playing in Brazil.

Not sure if I agree. While I've got some Irish tie on one side, I don't really have a desire to go.

If you really want to play a competitive side and sell a crap ton of tickets, play El Salvador.

The reason they play Spain is they can sell the tickets for ridiculous fees and make a mint. I don't blame them. They also know that Nike, ESPN and their other sponsors want to see them play top teams.

????? Last intl. break they played Paraguay the one before that they had a game scheduled vs Egypt, earlier in the year they played Colombia and before that Chile as well as a game vs South Africa.

Chile and South Africa games were not played with our A squads but we should play more games against teams like that. I just don't see the benefit from an on the pitch standpoint in playing three friendlies over a calendar non World Cup year against teams we can't touch the ball against. And yes I know it's for economic reasons, but that doesn't mean I like it. It only serves to make the US playing squad worse as a unit.
