This is EA folks, They know drury as "that clutch guy" and he's been in the 80's in every game since god knows when, He'll be at 83-84 IMO
As for the rest, I see gabs and lundy in the 90s , everyone else not named frolov will be low 80s to high 70s
Pretty sure Drury was rated 81. Not sure why he'd go up to 83-84. His 81 rating may seem overrated at first glance too, but his defensive attributes carry it. If he was average at defense he'd be like 76 overall.
I don't know why people are hating on EA's ratings here, they do a really good job with NHL compared to other EA titles.
Stepan and McDonagh will NOT be in the game (Hartford OR NYR) until the first roster update is released. Having not yet PLAYED a professional game, they are not yet protected by the respective player's associations for the AHL/NHL and therefore EA does not have the license to put them in the game until AFTER they have played one game in EITHER league. Once they have played a game, be it for Hartford or NYR, they will be able to include them in the first roster update that they release. This is the case EVERY year with rookies. If you don't know this than you're not really a big enough gamer to be posting authoritatively about whether they will or will not be in the game. Being that my job is somewhat "involved" in the video game industry, I know for a fact that they cannot be included until the first roster update.
don't think they're doing potential by letter grades anymore
Really? I kind of like it. When a player had a 99 potential rating in earlier games when they did it with the numbers, they'd almost be a lock to get there. At least with the letter system you had a little bit of flucuation on what the actual overall turned out to be.
Seeing as I am not a video game expert - when is the first update usually available?
Usually they make one available almost immediately after release. Sometimes they slack and it takes a little while. Certainly never more than a few weeks into the season.
someone has to get the 99, if it aint ovechkin who is it? 95 was high, I say 92 for parise. i dont even know what it is for '10.....
The nice thing about the NHL Series is that the developers realize that there have been guys who played the game (Gretzky, Lemiuex, Orr, Howe) that would deserve the 99 rating in a video game. So they keep even the best players from today at 94-95 or lower.

And I think that's the smart approach. Even when you consider all-time greats like Messier or Yzerman, they weren't on the same level as those guys.
When I see Crosby and Ovechkin, I see them on the Yzerman/Messier level, not so much as the Gretzky/Lemieux level.
Looking to join an EASHL club for PS3. I also play on Xbox but I'm thinking I'm making the full time switch to PS3 for '11.
My EASHL stats for Xbox are:
1604 GP 2096 G 1989 A 4085 Pts +1650
I am a full blown Right Winger with a lefty shot and as you can see by my stats I know how to put the puck in the net.
Anyone interested in me joining your club PM me.
i think this is the NHL equivalent to a 9 year old lighting everyone up on Call of Duty. i wish i had that kind of time.
