Johnson, it was right when the team started having success. He was a dependable player with a lot of heart. Sure the overall team is more talented now, but I'd love to have a few veteran pluggers like Johnson in the mix.

I had to get Arny on the board... plenty of bashers now that hes gone(and there were plenty before) but I liked him. Fitzy and Johnson were more or less captain by default, and Kimmo had one foot out the door when he got the C...

Arny was honestly my 2nd choice. I loved him as our C. He brought a lot to this team and more than we probably know

Arnott. Always have had a soft spot for him.

Arnie. Favorite childhood player back in his Devils/Stars days.
So I am kind of biased.

I've got to go with Fitzgerald. Fitzy was there at the beginning - leading the rag tag bunch of Predators.

It had to be tough starting from scratch and clawing our way (pun intended) into the NHL scene.

Very classy guy. I still remember him "riding the boards" in front of the players' bench one game.

When I first saw the question thought it would be an easy choice, but when I thought for a few minutes, bit tougher. If I just looked at the player part of this, KT is the easy choice for me. But, tenure as captain - I think he's the easy one to toss out with his one year that is easily our giant disappointment.

From there - how do you decide between the guy that led the ragtag expansion bunch, the guy that wore the C when we actually became a legit competitive team, or the guy that helped hold it together during Liarpoldgate? In the end, I chose my least-favorite player of the bunch - Arny - cause I think every one of us knows how close we came to watching OUR team get pulled out from under us; can't imagine how hard it musta' been in the locker room with all the uncertainty, as well as switching gears from signing some legit FAs to make us truly a threat to watching most everyone leave and having only the resources to sign the Ward's and Goc's of the world.

Went with Johnson. Nothing flashy. Loyal. Helped Poile smooth out Kariya's concerns about playing for Nashville. The consumate "company man".

Would really be more interested in Leggy and Erat's opinions. (I think Erat dates back to Fitzy).

my choice will be the first captian the leads the team to lifting the cup. But for now I have to choose Johnson. He is a class act and gave 100% of his ability on ice.
