Does that mean he won't be a throw-in anymore in the pathetic Leafs proposals?

So where's he going to play? With the Marlies? OHL?

He was never intended to be traded. He's one of our top prospects. All reports state he was a steal where he was drafted. He has NHL size right now and will be a very good 3rd liner for us.

I would've given him another year, but he should play well in the minors, with call-ups in case of injuries.

What a draft pick. Hard to believe he was drafted so late.

im dissapointed, being from the Capital District, going to a few RPI games per year. Good for him though, kid was a huge steal in the 6th round.

Sad to see talent leave the ECAC, but glad to see less talent on teams other than Big Red.

I don't see why this was put on one of the main boards... it's pretty much completely irrelavent to anyone who isn't a leafs fan. It's not like he's one of the leagues top prospects.

Only if you throw in Kaberle.

Rumours have him linked to Kitchener (who own his OHL rights), but he's explicitly stated he doesn't want to play in the OHL. This being said, I'd expect him to be with the Marlies (at least I hope he is).

Great player. Wouldn't be surprised to see him hit 70 points in his first season.

Although I agree with this, Leblanc had his own thread...

Anyone signing a pro contract should get their own thread.. better than all these proposals.

Will probably spend the season with the Marlies, with a few callups.

Given his age it may be helpful to start him off by assigning him to the ECHL for 20 - 40 games. If he spends the entire season in the E then no harm done - he'll still only be 20 when next season begins. He'll have plenty of time to play for the Marlies and Leafs.

I dont think he will spend the entire season in the NHL. Kid has promise though, no doubt about that.

We really really overrate this guy. Sure he is a fine prospect, but projects to be no more than a 3rd liner. People are all over him because of his performance at the WJC but he is just an average prospect

It's good to see a kid who was not really looked upon in the 2009 draft to sky rocket up the depth charts.. Jerry D'Amigo is a hardworking kid whose taken his training serious this year by bulking his 5'11 frame to 215lbs. Working out with left winger Zach Parise has probably helped his learning process as a 19 year old trying to break into the pro ranks. However, Jerry D'Amigo in my opinion needs more seasoning but has all the tools necessary in order to acheive his full potential as a top 6 winger in the NHL.. The climb for D'Amigo only begins here, dont count on the kid making the Leafs out of camp as more seasoning will be required in the AHL.. If rumors are true and he will 100% sign count on him to play in the AHL/WJC this coming winter with possibly a couple call-ups with the big club

I think he's going to be a much better player than that. Watching him play at RPI last year was a treat and I'm a bit sad I won't get to see him play more this coming season (I'm a Yale student so I got to see RPI beat up on Yale this year).

Toronto fans: I'm a bit surprised he signed so quickly, but he'll be a great player for you guys. Plays all out every shift.

This was my evaluation upon seeing his statistics. Nothing against the guy and for Leaf fans, I am hopeful he turns out fantastic. Just, at this juncture I cannot see the hype for a kid who did well in the few down junior leagues. If he can net more than a PPG at the AHL level my opinion would differ. Who knows though, at nineteen, he has plenty of room to develop.

I can't see him as a rookie in the AHL putting up a PPG.. The kid is only 19 at the moment so I think 40 points is reasonable playing top 6 minutes with the Marlies. I think he would benefit playing with such veterans like Joey Crabb, Mike Zigomanis and Tim Brent.. There is going to be some tough competition on the Marlies for top 6 forward spots as Luca Caputi, Nazem Kadri, Marcel Mueller, Mikhail Stefanovich, Dale Mitchell could all challenge for spots if they do not make the big club..He's at most going to be a good 2nd line winger if he reaches is full potential
