I disagree. If player X gets injured at Islanders tryouts, the Islanders are on the hook.

No way is it an open try out to any Joe. Garth would have to give the OK and sign them to a Pro Tryout contract.

I talked with him at the WC.

He said then that he would likely be in a state of limbo during the summer, but that his agent said a deal with Boston should be very possible as camp approaches.

He did mention that the key for his next NHL contract was his playoffs. Had he not had that mild success, he had expected that he'd have to play in Europe, possibly in the KHL or Sweden.
