Table is set for another TCU BSU bowl game matchup. 3rd in 3 years?

http://scores.espn.go.com/ncf/boxscore?gameId=283582628

http://scores.espn.go.com/ncf/recap?gameId=300042628

I sort of hope not.

Navy scored 76 points and Oklahoma had zip at the half. OK.

They'll do anything to keep those 2 schools from upsetting a BCS school

The whole system is criminal. While I have doubts in a playoff format these schools could survive the competition in most years, the fact that the entire thing is rigged to F them over is a joke. I really wish they would just go back to the old system that didn't even try to be "official" and just rely on random voting... than this pseudo-scientific crap.

Note: operating under the assumption that the pure awesomeness that a NCAA D1 college football playoff would be is impossible for American society to achieve.

One of the ridiculous parts from last year's game was when that stooge Mark May was sitting in the studio telling us how great it was that TCU and Boise would play each other in the Fiesta Bowl since both teams were undefeated, since none of the other bowls (aside from the Title Game) could deliver that.

UYA, looks like you got your wish with Hawkins... Wonder if Leach is still the guy they are trying to target.

About ******* time. My buddy, who's a big KU fan, came up to to to talk **** this morning, and I was just like, "actually, thank you. I'm glad, because if this isn't the last straw, I don't know what is."

Apparently CU is talking to Bellotti. I think that'd be a good hire. He can coach.

ASU - Stanford today... Our record against top 25 teams while I've been at ASU is so embarrassing if I get the actual number I might cry. Maybe we'll finally get one today...

Belotti would be a pretty good hire.

But this is sad:

In other Colorado coaching news, the school will not pursue former Texas Tech coach Mike Leach who was fired last season after he locked a player in an equipment shed as a punitive measure.

"Too much baggage," one Colorado source said.

I didn't even notice the blurb at the bottom first time I read it. That sucks but I've also heard that Leach may be pricing himself out of the market. I can't imagine Bellotti would sign cheap either, though.

of course VT has to have their defense run over on the first drive. that's kind of their "thing" this season.

Alabama had a pretty good tune up (FCS opponent) tonight for the Auburn game: most points scored by them since 1979.

Lets say hypothetically, Bama beats Auburn. Does this preclude Auburn from the Championship game?

It likely does. Which is why teams in the SEC, and (former) Big 12 have had it a bit rough.

If Auburn were to lose, I think they get back in if Oregon loses

It would depend on other scenarios but though I wouldn't count out a 1-loss SEC school, it would be unlikely Auburn would go.

I tend to agree with this. I have a feeling that pollsters would rather see a 1 loss SEC team in the NCG than a team like BSU or TCU. This is, of course, assuming the remaining top 4 teams win out (though some will have to win in much more convincing fashion than others).

I also wonder what are the implications of a team like Boise who looks to be 27-0 combined over 2 seasons getting snubbed in favor of a 1 loss team.

Boise has an interesting game tonight against Fresno. They are 30-point favorites and anything short of a blowout could hurt. Fresno isn't a bad team, the question is how they handle the atmosphere in Boise. That said, I circled the game at Nevada after Boise beat VT because that was overlooked at the time. Nevada's QB is pretty good. And they are 9-1.

And Oregon State, who have been underwhelming, but they bit Oregon in the ass the last time they were in line to get into the BCSNCG

Do you know if they're at home or away? I'd love for ORE to get knocked out of it again. I wouldn't count Zona out either.
