Temple beats UConn, which is a great win for Al Golden's program. They're on to Happy Valley next week.

WVU looked very good in the first half, struggled a little in the second but at least they got the win. Geno Smith was looking studly though.

If they are going to beat them, now is the time. Such a shame Temple doesnt have even a decent QB. If they did, who knows how good they woudl be. I ahve said it for a few years, Goldenis the next PS coach. I hope they allow him to name his succesor, at least in some way, when he leaves. There ar erumblings about the big east askign temple to return. That would be a mistake if that is the case and Temple moveds back to that conf.

Virginia Tech is a bunch of ****ing *******s. they play so disgustingly in the first half that i actually walk out of the game for the first time in 6 years, and the second i get home and get the game up on the PC they begin rocking ass. of course they'd do that.

no, it was pretty damned awful. NOBODY could make a tackle. on ECU's first scoring drive, i believe, there was one play where three tackles were missed in a terrible way, and then it was all followed with a blatant late hit to tack on more yards. they looked like **** for over half of the game, and it was because people were failing at fundamental football skills.

the play that made me determined to leave was when carmichael, covering his man in the endzone, decided to go for the tackle, instead of playing the ball. in the ENDZONE.

edit: the offensive line is heinous this year. they got thoroughly outworked by JMU, and for a good chunk of today's game

MSU beats ND with a fake field goal in OT. Great execution on the call, but it looked like one of the MSU players just tackled the ND coverage leaving a guy wide open. Tough call for a ref to make but it looks like MSU got away w/ one.

Temple another victory. It really is painful watching Chester Stewart try and play QB for the team. He is ****ing horrible. Like not even decent, horrible.

We'll need a lucky game out of him next week to take down PSU. I have a feeling we will be getting alot of TOs though.

On the bright side for Temple, this could be a very beatable PSU team. One which is starting a true freshman at QB, and likely to suffer some turnover woes of its own.

Lose by one and we missed a PAT with 4 mins left, returned a KO to the Wisc 1 yard line with 0 secs left in the first half and missed a 30 yard field goal earlier in the game.

Absolutely brutal. We needed that W.

One of the best games and which won't get much attention...

http://www.al.com/sports/index.ssf/2...ered_on_t.html

Quote:
His story begins with UAB on its 1-yard line, trailing in-state rival Troy by six points, and just 69 seconds remaining on the Legion Field clock.

"I told the guys on the way out there, we're going to tell our children about this 20 years from now: 'We went 99 to beat Troy,' " Ellis said. "After the game, they were joking about it, saying 'Yeah, I'm going to tell my kids about that.' " The final play covered 44 glorious yards -- at least from UAB's perspective -- as Ellis rolled to the left away from pressure, waited for his receivers to get down field and lofted a pass that freshman Jackie Williams caught above a crowd.

The officials ruled a touchdown on the field but it took a couple of minutes for the replay official to confirm the ruling. All it took after that was Josh Zahn's extra point to deliver a memorable 34-33 victory over the Trojans before a Legion Field crowd of 23,681.

Tech already lost to JMU. At this point, there's no way that win could look any less impressive for Boise.

I'd rather have a highschool quarterback than Chester Stewart.

Pretty crazy stuff

Mark Dantonio suffered heart attack

EAST LANSING, Mich. -- Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio had a heart attack late Saturday night after his team's overtime victory against Notre Dame, the school said Sunday in a news release.

Dantonio had a stent put in a blocked artery near his heart not long after the Spartans used an audacious fake field to win 34-31.

Dantonio will be out indefinitely and offensive coordinator Don Treadwill will coach in his absence.

I don't know about beatable, but certainly it should not be the normal PSU blowout as it normally is.

IMO the key for the game will be Matt Brown since PSU will be focused on Pearce.
