Well, we are slow and played last night, avs are quick and had the day off. GL, Devils, though, GL. These are the Ws you need to rack up to get into playoffs.

Even though the Avs aren't playing that good their team composition could ruin ours, so much speed and skill. Another big test for our defensemen tonight, hoping Larsson continues his rock solid play!

Haha...great GDT.

"I expected the Rocky Mountains to be a little rockier than this."
"I was thinking the same thing. That John Denver's full of ****, man"

I fully expect Brunner to be back in for Tootoo...Pete hinted at it & Tootoo once again brought nothing last night but a stupid penalty.

Really liked Larsson's game last night, as I was paying a lot of attention to him when he was on the ice. Noticed that he just liked to fire a puck on net at any opportunity. Not a bad thing (and likely inflates his Corsi), but should maybe look for a better play at times. Still, not much to complain about in his play lately - especially on the PK, where the Devils have been much better w/o Sal. Larsson was playing very sound positionally on the PK.

Originally thought Kinkaid would (finally) get the start tonight, but following Pete's "Cory struggled, so I want to get him right back in there" I fully expect something along the lines of "he's hot right now, so I want to get him right back in there".

Question - can anyone tell me what time warm-ups usually begin?

Usually before I game I'm downing beer & wings at Hell's Kitchen, but I'm taking my son to the game tonight so thought it would be cool to check out the warm-ups instead.

6:30....and for reference, teams cannot hit the ice for warmups until the 16:00 mark on the scoreboard clock (that is running down).

If you didn't know, they usually let you go down by the glass during the warm-up even if you're not sitting there...it's great for the kids to get up close....after warm up, take them to the over to the "game area" as there's usually a bunch of kids activities going on and it will fill the time before the game starts.

Thanks. Yeah, I knew they let you up by the glass during the warm-ups so that's the plan.
Good call on the game area after warm-ups.

Edit: Thanks AirheadPete on the start time.

Technically speaking, we are 5 4th liners in our line-up. Minus tootoo, our 3rd line looks nice.

Love dumb&Dumber. Good stuff!

(Sequel wasn't as good though )

GL to game. We need a win as well.... (Jim Carrey sums it up pretty well for us as well. Small chance for a win.)

I'm gonna say no, especially with Cory saying last night it probably wouldn't be a good idea to sit him now.

They gotta send Kinkaid back down at some point to play a few games if he's just going to be this month's Clemmensen.

I believe this is how Pete thinks:
Schneider was great in the previous game - he needs to start cuz he's hot.
Schneider was awful in the previous game - he needs to start so he can rebound.

I agree with Pete if that's how he thinks. It's crucial for Cory to get into a consistent pattern of being the starter for this franchise. Kinkaid will get his shot, but it's not a priority right now.

I agree and I think Cory should start almost every game anyway, everyone who is worried about him shouldn't be he is really that good and you will see him get better and better, I say keep playing him basically almost every game.

I love this schedule. Multiple days off followed by two back to backs and matinees for a Saturday.

Start Cory. Plenty of off days.

Getting a 'boring' 1-0 shutout and debating on whether we're playing the starting goalie too much...now it's starting to feel like the old days

Hard to sit a goalie coming off a shutout normally... Tough call.

There IS only one game in the next five days after tonight before a back-to-back in Alberta, then another one game in five day stretch. For all the back-to-backs this month even this isn't as much a killer goalie schedule as it would seem given all the days off around the back-to-backs.

The priority is, don't kill your goalie, year one of an 8 year starting gig.

Is playing Cory 75 games instead of 65 games during his supposed physical prime really gonna affect him 'beyond' this year? This isn't quite like playing running back in the NFL. My worry with playing him too much is he gets worn out in March/April...but Cory HAS started to play better since the schedule started to tighten up a bit and let's face it, we gotta get to April alive for it to matter.

At this point it wouldn't shock me if Cory played through Thanksgiving but from right after Thanksgiving till the weekend before Christmas there are 13 games in 23 days. A backup's going to HAVE to play like three of them at least.

My worry is, can he handle it? Why even chance it? Avs are a bottom feeder, out of conference, can't hurt you in the standings team. If ever there was a game to play him, it's this one.
