Same here. Hated his guts. No idea how everyone loved him so much. He annoyed the hell out of me every single episode he appeared in.

I could be wrong, but I am under the impression that say 95% of the people out there liked him, and he was designed to be a likable character. I haven't watched a second of it since the finale, though, so could be misremembering.

I loved Charlie. He had an innocence about him which is why people identified with the character.

How can you dislike Charlie? He's easily the most likable character on the show, other than Desmond and Jin. He was definitely my favorite by far. And Desmond, obviously. I hated Kate, Hurley, and Sawyer.

He annoyed me for some reason. He's nowhere near as bad as Kate though.

Kate was awesome at first, but got increasingly more annoying as the show went on. Can't stand Clare either. Hurley I was indifferent on.

Locke, Ben Linus, Charlie, Desmond, Sawyer and Jack are my personal favorites.

The writers did such a great job incorporating symbolism into the show

example (from Lostpedia) - When Locke gets some chicken from the refrigerator, Ben says "I ate most of the dark meat." This leaves only white meat for Locke to eat, symbolizing him as the good person, and Ben as the bad person.

I liked them all. Nobody I can think of I hated/disliked.

Desmond is probably my favourite though.

I actually hadn't seen any episode of Lost until a couple of months ago, and then I did a Lost watching marathon for a couple of weeks and blazed through all the seasons.

I hated everyone except Sayid and Sawyer ultimately. I liked half of them at the start, but by the end, those two were the only ones that weren't annoying the hell out of me. I hated the direction the show took in the last two seasons, and the ending made me feel like I wasted my time ultimately. The first two were good, and then it was all downhill after that in my opinion. Can't say I liked the series.

OH **** YOU, THIS IS 40, **** YOU.

Just started running through Lost on Netflix (for the first time). Had the movie 'This is 40' on in the background last night, and BAM, Lost spoilers.

Is it unfair of me to be angry for getting a three year old TV show ruined? Sure. But man, talk about being blindsided.

I had seen 'This is 40' about a year back. I remember the daughter in the show freaking out about the ending of the series (They're all dead, I think she says), what I didn't remember is them showing Sayid stabbing Locke.

****.

Anyway, I will now exit this thread until my completion of the series. But man, that pissed me off

If to spark some conversation upon my exit, I will say this... that based on the scene in 'This is 40' about the ending...

My guess is the island is some sort of purgatory. Everyone there needs to figure out why they're there. The "others" must be some sort of dark version of angels, who take people when they're ready to be taken. Which could only make the "black smoke monster" the devil.

I base this on the member of the "others" who was in Anna Loucia's group. After they took the children, he said they were "in a better place now". I think the "black smoke monster" is the devil based on the most recent episode I watched S2E10, when it comes face-to-face with Eko, Eko stares him down, and the monster retreats as Eko continues to try and make up for his sins.

I hope I'm pretty far off. And I hope I forget some of these spoilers before I actually get to the end

The only thing that I can think of that puts a hole in my theory is the fact that the black smoke monster took the Oceanic pilot so quickly, and that the humans on the island can kill other humans - like Anna Loucia killing Shannon.

BTW, where the **** did Desmond go?

Y-you're kidding, right?

That's the most obvious and hamfisted bit of dialogue I've ever heard - if anything, it's a joke by the writers about symbolism.

Um... not to worry. You weren't spoiled. I haven't seen This Is 40 but if what you're saying is accurate then the character in the movie is wrong/didn't understand the show.

I remember there was a youtube channel where you could watch full episodes of lost, it had all 6 seasons. Did that get taken down?

I've decided that through two seasons (about to hit play on S3E1) the most mysterious part of the island so far is how Evangeline Lilly gets hotter and hotter every episode.

And Claire, too.
