I won't. At-least it would be local sports repetition.

It seems like with a lot of people on these boards who kinda treat the 1260 guys pretty harshly. It's almost like a witch hunt. If chase goes? Who is the next ragging boy? I think some people would not be happy until everyone is gone.

You must not listen to much sports talk radio. The Team is pretty awful. Most of there local programing is embarrasing compared to 960 let alone the rest of what's out there.

That last line made me LMFAO. So true. I hate Rome.

The last month or so I've been listening to the, ugh, Fan590(Toronto sports) online stream during 10-12, (and before if Chase is annoying me, and he almost always is) It's usually pretty good actually.

I've gone into great detail in the past about how much I want Edmonton to have a viable all-sports radio station. In fact in the 8 years that the TEAM's been on the air, there are only 3 hosts I've found to be unlistenable to the point where I changed the station as soon as I could hear their voice: Ron Rimer, Tony Fiorillo and Kyle Chase. While Fiorillo was in a class by himself for horribleness, Rimer & Chase are tied for 2nd worst.

To answer your question I guess, my next ragging boy will be the next person I find to be as collossally bad as the 3 buffoons I mentioned above.

Fiorillo! It was bad. Real bad, but it wasn't repeat radio like at lot of this summer has been.

Listening sometimes when segments are repeated from earlier in the day from some other show, from the same show the day before, or repeated from the exact same show on the same day, reminds me of writing papers in university. Prof says has to be 3000 words. I only I have enough info to fill 1500 words worth so I just ramble and repeat same information.

I much prefer current AM format and therefore hosts over the past duo. Although I do miss the pretend chuckles when Wilkie was on. Also when Wilkie would be golfing and he'd hand the phone over to some random who was golfing with him. Horrid radio. In this case, the regular guests didn't even respect the show.

Not working this summer so ...
These days I'll listen to Oilers Lunch either live or podcast. Oops I mean streamlined later. I'll listen to Bob McCowan streamed from the Fan 590 Primetime Sports for an hour-ish depending on guests. Well their streaming/actual podcast format has no commercial so 39 minutes. Gregor gets my ear as well most days for a bit if it is hockey related. Listen to Principe guest host some NOW that is much worse than Rimer and Fiorillo and Jake.

If you thought Jake's infantile "Scotty Bowman! Scotty Bowman!" chant with Bob McKenzie was bad (and it was), you should have heard Fiorillo's show the time they got Bowman to call in as a guest for a segment. Words can't do justice to how awful it was but let's just say that Tony's syrupy sucking up, dopey questions and fractured English (even though it's supposedly his first language) managed to be way more embarrassing than what Jake was doing. It's funny you mentioned Principe because the instant I heard him guest-hosting last week, I had unpleasant flashbacks to Rimer's crappy show.

THis should be some pretty entertaining radio

http://fb.me/I4qtEbXY

The Team 1260 To show just how drunk Khabibulin was at 0.16, Jason Gregor and Meg Morrison will be drinking tomorrow with a breath-a-lizer on hand. Tune in between 3-6pm for what should be a complete train-wreck!

I want to see it and not just hear

WKRP flash back
I am trying to find the clip where Fever and fly trap got drunk and Fever's reaction got better as he got drunker

I did a test(6 years ago before I stopped drinking) like that and after about 4 jack and cokes my reactions where better--however--after the 7th one I got goofy

Bottom of the barrel stuff, there. Next thing you know they'll be running ads for Miss Cleo, Herbal Magic, and those magnetic bracelets that seem to cure everything except ennui.

If the Team drops Rome, it will be a huge mistake. What are they going to replace it with? ESPN Radio?

Rome has his followers and his haters. I sure as hell know a lot more people who like him than dislike him. If they drop Rome, I as well as I am sure many others, will be sending an email to Astral and to the Producers of the Rome Show.

+1 Hater.....Jim Rome was relevant for me about 10 years ago.
I was a fan when I was in the US & excited when he was available here in Edmonton.
Alas, I grew up & now cannot tolerate his show.

I'd laugh because for how much he drinks there is no way he passes out at .164, then what is he going to say?

I agree 100%
There are soooo many Rome haters, but this is the only constant on the Team 1260. Hosts, shows, timeslots have all changed, but Rome has stayed. I can understand people not liking his style, but he has a HUGE following all over North America.
Plus, listening to the Sklar Brothers guest host is hilarious...

Not that I'm anyone important, but they'll lose me as a listener if Rome gets dropped. Somedays the morning show is absolutely horrendous and I can't even listen except for the final 10 minutes as a lead-in to Rome. Lose Rome, and I won't even listen to those 10 minutes. Plus, I'll usually leave it on when it segues to Oilers Lunch.

Right now the only local programming I enjoy is JG's show. I don't mind Stauffer and think he does a hell of a job with what he's got to work with (imagine that show and what it could have done from the fall of 2005 - June of 2006) but no Jim Rome and I'll be listening to podcasts from 9-3pm.

I'll add:

I get it why Rome grates on some people's nerves. I've been listening to pretty much every show for the last 3 years and there are highs, there are lows.

I appreciate his guest hosts now more than I thought I would.

Gregor and Morrison are getting drunk on air for awareness about drinking & driving live on today's show. Apparently they're shooting for .164 which is what Khabi got busted at.
