I am sure he could have had more Oiler content if they wanted to.

During the season though something more media scrum clips we already heard from the day before would be nice. It would be nice to hear weekly from a member of the coaching staff, maybe the farm coach every other week, a member of management a few times a month, players with an exclusive interview a couple times a week. Maybe sprinkle in scouts or a player from the farm team here and there. They already have DeBrusk and others come in here and there and talk Oilers. So keep that up and beef up Oil content in other areas. It is cool that they cover the Oil Kings and other NHL teams too. But there is room for more IMO.
Good points Oilerdiehard. To go along with these, wouldn't it be kinda nice to get some inside information on OKC from coaches, staff, and players that we do not hear as much? I am really interested in the total rebuild of the Oiler org this year, and sure would appreciate interviews with the players and coaches we do not get to hear from that often. Also, regarding Stauffers NCAA stuff posted earlier, even if there is not allot going on in the Oilers during the summer, there are 29 other teams, coaches, etc he could tap into.....especially the other teams in our division

Haha, I suppose it would have been easier just to go to your site(although that way those lurking the boards wouldn't now know). Still rookie mistake. And congrats again Guy. Maybe now they'll send you two to the draft next year

Interesting show so far today on Oilers Lunch. Bob is talking with Spector.

Bob mentioned after the young guys had that big finish to the season a few seasons ago. Certain veterans resented how the young guys stole all the spotlight and everyone was putting their hopes on them leading the team. So those vets made it a real point to put those young guys in their place since then (without saying who it was I got impression he was talking about Moreau for one). Bob also mentioned I can guarantee that will not happen again going forward. Which makes me think he is talking about guys that got the boot and will no longer be around.

By the way Kevin Lowe will be on to start hour 2.

That's nuts. Great "leadership" we had.

Doesn't surprise me in the least. The loss of Moreau and Staios alone should be good for an extra 5-10 points in the standings.

I actually don't want to go to the draft... it's much better (for our show) to be hosting the live draft coverage at the station. Gregor, Nielson, Chase... they did a great job of being there. I might be biased but I thought the TEAM 1260's 6AM-Midnight Draft coverage + Saturday coverage of Day 2 was pretty kick ass.

If the draft was in Edmonton, that might be a bit different.

I agree the draft coverage was great this year

I guess I just assumed you guys wanted to go, since I think everyone on HFOil probably wants to go every year. My mistake

Actually I think I mentioned in the post you quoted. That they should have the OKC GM, coach and some players / prospects on the show regularly more often.

Also I will take other NHL teams over NCAA football any day. No problems there. But as I said let's keep the Oiler content on Oilers Lunch high.

Guy you guys cover prospects across the board (and do a great job of it) and rightly so.

But now that you have so much content to fill in with an extra 2 hours per week. Does this mean we should expect a more comprehensive level of Oiler prospects on TPS? Yes I know I am being greedy here. But the show is on in Edmonton so I feel justified asking.

No. It's not an Oiler specific show. You are more likely to hear Oil Kings than Oilers on our show but that's not really a new change. That's not to say we won't talk about players in the WHL or NCAA who are also Oiler prospects but that's not THE reason why we will talk to them.

An extra day will give us a greater ability to do what we do best and that doesn't include covering the Oilers. We already have 4 daily shows doing that every day. We focus on players in junior/college/minor pro and NHL rookies and that's what makes us different.

Congrats on the additional time slot. Much better than gardening. Will the Saturday show be archived as well?
