because i dont like Reddens game or Emingers game either...and Sauers health is too big a question mark. i just wish SOMEONE else was there that was a more obvious choice...like the undertaker or whatever his name is.

I wish McIlrath was ready but I've heard he's like three years away from touching NHL ice. Gilroy didn't excite me either last year but I think he's our best option as of right now. If he falters they'll sit, demote, or try to trade him.

If Gilroy doesn't win the spot you gotta question the kids compete level for the rest of his NHL career. I hope he can step up and grab what's rightfully his.

I picked Gilroy due to him being the best option out of the 3. I wouldn't mind flipping a 2nd rounder for a decent dman on a short term contract however.

If we could snatch Kaberle for a 1st and 2nd or 2, and guarentee an extension of around the same value, I would prefer that route. Anyone who disses Kaberles game doesn't watch him play. Very good player for his cap hit. Obviously he wouldn't be our 6th dman if we got him.

meh, went with Gilroy hoping he could mesh with McD. Gonna be a long year for our top 4...hope they stay relatively healthy.

Hopefully Gilroy. That means Redden is a goner.

I picked Gilroy because he probably has the lead going into camp, but my choice is really "anyone other than Redden." Would love to see Valetenko or Sauer step up and grab it.

Wade Redden is easily the best player left. Maybe Gilroy if he took a HUGE step forward this summer.

Having said that, at his cap hit he can go jump off a bridge. If the space is there, Redden. If not, Gilroy.

Voted other...

None of the 3 are very good, I hope Gilroy makes sufficient strides this year to be a solid bottom pairing guy. Would love to see Valentenko or Sauer grab the spot but I'm not sure either will. I have not seen enough of Valentenko and he has been seriously limited due to injuries the last couple years in the KHL, but he was solid in the A for Montreal a few years ago. Sauer's lack of foot speed and inability to stay on the ice so far tells me he is a 7th or AHLer for life.

Idealy Valentenko has a stellar camp and comes out as the #6.
