45 points last season (would have been good for 6th overall on the Flyers). 46 the season before. Stanley Cup rings. Yeah I'll take him in a second.
a paraplegic could net 45 points playing on a line with cindy crosby. i'd still take him but there's no way hes putting 20 plus goals in this year, especially since he will probably play on our 3rd line
He only scored goals on the pp last year, and missed a great amount of tap in's apparently. We should stay away from this guy. Carcillo can be good for 15 goals, 30 points if we stick with him in a career year. He will also bring us a great deal more PP's than guerin will.

It's generally a good idea to stay away from forwards who are about to turn 40. Unless said person is Mark Recchi.
Anyways, I know he was a pen and all but it would be nice to add some more vet presence to the team. Kind of like a replacement for knuble a year late... but I still think knuble>guerin.

Except that Knuble is actually a good player still.

We probably have the best vet presence in the league already. Timonen, Pronger, Lappy, O'donnell are all captain material. Sometimes more is too much, imo.
FWIW here are three successive Tweets by Panaccio:
tpanotch - Paul Holmgren says Guerin just asked to skate and workout out for now. His agent has not asked about a contract or tryout.
tpanotch - “I just want to figure out what to do next,” Guerin said. “...Any player would like to play here.”
tpanotch - Guerin's agent Bob Murray tells me he wants a real contract; not tryout for his client.
... So, what I gather is that he is eying the Flyers and is looking to impress them BEFORE Camp... but is not going to go to Flyers Camp without a contract... That said, he seems like he feels he has a real chance to show Homer that the Flyers need him before Camp begins.
It was also posted on here somewhere, IIRC that he said he would only sign with a contender when he was asked about the Blues. I think he is trying to get player support... and hopes that the Homer will move a player to sign him. If he does, and Carcillo is still on the team, CarBomb would have to move to the 4th line and Powe would have to be the one moved to the A or elsewhere, as I see it.

Not disagreeing, but what more do we need after Pronger, Kimmo, Lappy, O'Donnell, and arguably Shelley and Boucher count as?
As for Guerin, I'll take him for cheap. If Timmy P is right and he wants a "real contract," then, keep walking, Bill.

Aside from Ryan Kesler.
Anyway, I personally have a large dislike for the guy and have no honest reasoning for it. I just don't like him. But I will say I feel he is better than CarBomb, but I have a good feeling Carcillo will start impressing more people as his career goes along. And I would not mind having him in Philly long term(as long as his contract doesn't exceed his production).
On a serious but LOLJK matter, Let's sign Bobby Ryan up for a hometown discount of 1mill+TastyKakes. Wish it were possible to get this guy on wing, we would just need Jim Dowd back for a Jersey line of JvR-Dowd-Ryan. WIN!

I don't actually have that much against Guerin, but we still don't have room for him on our roster. And you're right, we don't need more vets - we have lots.
Unless Homer is trading a forward or two, it would be dumb to sign Guerin and sit him in the pressbox, or have Powe AND Shelley sitting in the box while Guerin plays.
Guerin's a guy I've expected for several years now to be in a Flyers uniform at some point in his career. I'd say I want him on the 3rd line, but I have no idea what he's looking for as far as $$$ goes.

Guerin's is in my town? Interesting haha.

If he signs for cheaply enough, why not? He's miles better than Shelley.
If he's here working out with the team, hopefully he can demonstrate that he can play and earn himself a spot. I'd prefer to put him on a tryout contract for camp, but if he's willing to take peanuts, then whatever, I'd welcome him.
Comparing Guerin to Shelley is pointless. Shelley is a fighter/grinder. Guerin is supposed to be a scorer because he sure as hell can't backcheck, forecheck, fight, or grind. It's two completely different roles. Now that Guerin doesn't really have a scoring touch anymore he doesn't have a use.
Not to mention that Guerin would be a 35+ contract while Shelley isn't. Comparing Guerin to Shelley is laughable.
