It was tough to decide between Pohl, Bolduc, FitzGerald, Sanford and Nissinen -- all of whom I feel have a future in the NHL -- but I went with Pohl.

Agreed on FitzGerald. The phrase "the next Scott Stevens" gets applied to a lot of youg physical defensemen, but FitzGerald has a chance to be that.

As for MacMurchy:

Here's what HF's resident NCAA expert, Oiler's Chick, recently posted about MacMurchy:

Quote:
Ryan MacMurchy, Wisconsin - What a year Wisconsin is having! MacMurchy has been an integral part of the Badgers success this season. He's been seeing time with some of Wisconsin's impressive freshmen, most notably Washington Capitals prospect Andrew Jourdrey. What I like about MacMurchy's game is that he's fearless. He not only is willing to crash the net with reckless abandon but doesn't seem to mind taking the abuse that comes with parking himself in front of opposing netminders either. He's also been quite the physical player this season as well. He can take it just as well as dish it out. If he's not getting physical or taking abuse from opposing team defenders, he's scoring goals. He's 2nd on the team in scoring behind senior Rene Bourque and many of his goals are of the "garbage" or "around the net" variety. He's always buzzing looking for the loose change.
