He also was on the ice both times his team scored (first one on PP, second one on eq). He got the 1st assist to the game tier in the 3rd. Played over 18 minutes, which was the second most of his team's d-men.

Kuznetsov was held without points in a 4-3 lost and he was in penalty box when the opponent scored the game winner. Looks like he played on 3rd line with 12 mins TOI. All the forwards of two top lines played around 18-19 minutes.

Kuznetsov & Orlov interviewed. Both are intent in buying out the final season of their contracts and even joining Hershey in the spring if circumstances allow.

That's great to hear. It would surely make Hershey that much more exciting next season.

On another note, that picture is going to follow Kuznetzov for the rest of his career. Poor kid.

Nice hit by Orlov. Those khl.ru highlights just blow away anything we have. I love all the slow motion and multiple angles all included.

That's awesome. It'll be interesting to see how they do once they're over here. With a new CBA coming up and Green's contract ending...I really don't have a good feeling about how that might go.

Nk wins 3 - 2

Nice stick-handling by Kuznetsov on his assist...And what a rocket of a shot from Orlov.

KHL:

- Orlov with the lone assist on the game-tying goal in a surprising 3-2 shootout win over Salavat Yulaev. Orlov played a team-high 19:30. I've doubted the player's potential to step right in next season but if he keeps on playing #1/2 minutes this season and maybe even joins Hershey in the spring then it's a possibility.
- Kuznetsov scoreless in a 3-0 win

Here is a great article by Alessandro Seren Rosso on Kuznetsov and Orlov:
http://www.russianprospect.com/artic...s-metallurg-nk

You might also want to follow our twitter: @RussianProspect where we are tweeting about many Russian prospects (including Kuznetsov and Orlov).

Dont get your hopes high on this being a "great" article. I'd question a few things coming from this author. Some article he writes by simply collecting info from the fan boards without actually knowing anything about the player or having seen them play. Just a heads up.

The typical articles when a prospect returns to their junior team from NHL camp are starting to appear...

Garrett Mitchell: Mitchell glad to be back from NHL and a mention in an article about the team about increased offensive expectations link

Stanislav Galiev: Capitals camp an eye-opener

Carrier: Maine Hockey Journal Carrier and Chaput give Maineiacs some zip; here was the earlier article about Carrier from during rookie camp Carrier learning as he goes at Capitals camp

and an article on Swift Current/Eakin Swift Current Broncos await the return of captain Cody Eakin

OHL: Flemming and Grubauer play each other as the OHL season gets underway for Mississauga and Kingston
WHL: Mitchell/Regina's season also opens tonight
Q: Carrier and Galiev also expected to play tonight

Grubauer with a 44 save shutout in a 3-0 win over Belleville

Galiev with an assist in a 7-6 shootout loss; Carrier had a holding penalty in a 2-1 win

FYI, I have the table ready to go to post season to date stat updates from time to time for all the prospects for those that like to check here and not use the links to the player's profiles. Also, I'm going to double-check all the profile links not that the CHL seasons have started.

OT: local prospect/summer dev. camp invitee, Chris Bond..."Andrew White flew down the right wing with the puck and fired a pass across to Chris Bond who was driving the net on the 2-on-1 break and Bond registered his first Junior A goal..." (his +5 is also tops on the team early in the season after 6 games played)

KHL REPORT: METALLURG NK VS SIBIR NOVOSIBIRSK

DMITRY ORLOV

Blue liner Dmitry Orlov was the most used player on ice today for Metallurg Novokuznetsk as he logged a 20:10 TOI. The young blue liner played a lot during powerplays as his team tries taking advantage of his big shot from the point, but this time it didn't work. But he played a big role during his team's only goal of the game as he kept the ball rolling on the blue line, recovering the puck near the blue line and dumping it in deep in the zone so that a line mate could recover it. They launched another combination and scored.

Orlov built yet another chance during the second period, during a powerplay, when he made a great diagonal pass for Albert Vishnyakov, who sent the puck wide wasting a great chance.

While Orlov keep on progressing on the offensive front, he still needs some work on his defensive play. Orlov was also iced during the last minute of play, but couldn’t help his team in scoring again.
