Have to think with Anderson and Grubauer signed...Dunn's days are numbered (his play isn't helping his cause either...apparently)

Agree about the 2 young prospects being signed and the realities for Dunn in this organization; on the other hand, stats from 1 game don't say much as to how he will do this season and of course, like last year, he's battling for time with Lee.

Ouch. When your save% and GAA have the same first digit its not good.

Fixed, thanks. Here are the game by game stats, so looks like it was a typo on my part...link

Next update, I'll try to link to the game by game profiles and figure out a way to include team records.

Here's what I had pulled together so far on Sunday, I just updated it to include yesterday as well...too early to add USHL and NCAA, IMO. Not sure if any value in this, especially so early in the season and probably need to restructure by League based on playoff qual. rules by League if it's something people think is useful.

Team Stats as of Monday, Oct 11, games completed:

Galiev doubles his point totals with 1g/1a and +2/tripping penalty (3rd goal of game and assist was on the GWG) in a 5-3 win; Camp invitee Lefrancois with 1a for Rimouski in the game (he has 15 points in 9 games)

So great that while an extremely important part of what we discuss and part of team building, that this thread is consistently the most under used!

Also interesting how our main prospects have shuffled from Hershey centric to juniors/Russia. The higher-end re-inforcements are not there for this year.

Average Time On Ice

Kuznetsov: 9:50
Orlov: 18:15

Orlov's 6pts leads the team among Dmen (Overall leading score has 8pts)

I agree with this in principle (especially given the promotions of Carlzner and Neuvy), but to be fair, there are still some higher-end prospects in Hershey. Namely Perrault and Holtby, and to a lesser extent Bouchard, AGordon, and Beagle.

But your general point is definitely true. Most of the guys who have a legitimate shot at making the Caps roster consistently aren't in Hershey. I think a lot of that has to do with a lot of recent Hershey talent graduating, as well as how full the roster in Washington is.

Its just eb and flow of prospects. Still a steady stream out there due to this orgs great drafting. But just something I noticed. There's bodies with NHL talent in Hershey for sure. But we've been spoiled a little lately.

He also had a nice breakaway at 1:48 that was stopped by the goalie.

Eakin, Kuznetsov, Orlov, Wey, Grubauer. Maybe Galiev (not sure if they're shunning guys in the CHL this year like they have in the past)?

Grubauer is a lock, no question there. I'd say Orlov and Kuznetsov are as well, and Eakin should be IMO but you never know.

For those that may ask, a player with 1991 or later birthyear is eligible for the U20 WJCs

And a link to Buffalo WJC site and team groups

Brs03 provided a good summary of the Capitals' prospects with good to solid chances of making it to the WJCs and the issue with Galiev (also note he's a '92, like EK.) Kuznetsov and Orlov played for Russia last year; Grubauer played for Germany the last 2 years (09-10 Div1; 08-09). Wey has attended the last 2 summer camps held by the USA; Eakin was close to making the team last year and attended Canada's camp this summer.

Eakin (91) - Canada
Grubauer (91) - Germany
Galiev (92) - Russia
Kuznetsov (92) - Russia
Orlov (91) - Russia
Wey (91) - USA

Most fan projections I have seen don't include Wey making the team based on the defensive depth for the USA, etc., but stating the obvious, it will depend on his play for BC, availability of other D and how they decide to build the team.
